ATTN: 98-99 Cavalie/Sunfire Owners

Ok, well im going to swap in a sunfire guage cluster into my 99 cavy, and after months of searching i finally found a 99 sunfire guage cluster for a manual trans. Well im in the process of looking for a nice white face guage kit and went to Black Cat Customs, as i have done business with in the past, as has some others on the org, and his quality is nothing short of top notch, you wont find a better made product for the money anywhere.

And well hers the deal, he offers a conversion for the 2k+ cavys and fires to change the stock 110 speedo to a 140 speedo, and for 209 plus shipping, plus an 80 dollar core charge you get back with the return of your stock cluster, you get a new or refurbished recalibrated cluster with the white face already installed, along with an HVAC and Dimmer switch panels to match.

Heres some pics of the cavy and fire cluster

Thats what the finished product will look like, and you can get the face in either white, red, yellow, blue and the numbers will light up in your choice of red, blue green or amber. They will be a reverse indiglo type setup, the white will be black at night and just the letters/mubers will be lit up. Very sweet looking at night and you use your stock dimmer to control the brightness.

Ok, now for the meat of this post, i want to have this same 140 speedo for my 99, but we need to get a group together to help with the cost, see an engineer has to sit down wiht the cluster and see what its going to take to reprogram the speed, which takes time and money, around a grand is what he charges. So in order to get the same deal the 2k+ peeps are getting we need atleast 25 people to be firm and commited to making this happen.

Now even after this initail run the price will stay the same, so if you think well ill just wait to save money later and get it cheaper, its not going to work like that, and for every person less than the 25 the price goes up by about 85 bucks. So as you can see the more we can get in on this the more everyone saves, and has something that is truly different.

Also hers a link to the info page on Blackcat Customs Website click here for info

Ok, well im going to go ahead and start a list and hopefully we can come together and make this happen.

Also, you will be able to pay via money order thru the mail, paypal, or all major CC over the phone.

You will also have to either get another guage cluster to send in, or send in your stock cluster, now once we get everything ready to go and all the guages faces made and the guy ready to reprogram all the clusters as soon as they arrive we are looking at a turnaround time of only a couple days, and trying to set it up for a wekend type thing, basically send it fedex overnight either thursdays or friday night and get it back overnight either monday or tuesday, maybe saturday, but i cannot promise that at this point.

This will work for the 98-99 digitial odometer only and doesnt matter if you have auto or manual, just please list above what cluster you have either cavy or sunfire and auto or manual trans.

Ok,now lets make this happen.

I'm putting an end to this thread for several reasons, though they won't be plainly obvious once I delete most of the posts from it.

First off, gaining interest in a GP should only be done by someone who would actually run that GP and that requires that you be a premium member. There have been some exceptions to this where it was plainly obvious who would champion the GP if it ran and we've let those go but in this case, for all intents and purposes, it is your GP.

Secondly, interest threads do no have lists of people. They simply look to get a general idea of whether people even care. The idea behind a GP is that it's a good enough deal that people will want to get in on it. If they don't, then it wasn't all that good an idea or the price wasn't good enough and them's the breaks. You don't generate a list of people to guarantee your GP will be successful BEFORE running the GP. That's what the GP is. The GP itself is where you try to generate the list.

Finally, regardless of where the money ends up, a GP is a GP and someone here has to take charge of it. If you're the one gathering the people to go to BCC, then it's your GP and you've got to pay the dues.

Basically, when you're running a GP you generally profit in some way, even if there's nothing above and beyond what everyone else in the GP is getting. That being the case, it's worth it to you to spend the few dollars it costs to run it properly via the permitted channels. If it's not worth that much to you, then the GP is probably not worth running.
