i have a 2000 z24 and the shifter has the reverse safety built in so there isnt a shift knob that screws off. I wanted to know if anyone knows how to get that off so i can put my new shift knob on.

i would think the reverse safety would be a pretty good clue that it is a 5-speed, unless you NEED everything spoonfed to you.
anyway, the stock knob just pulls off---I have heard it is hard, but mine was kinda easy. to learn about removing the reverse lock out, check the FAQ at the top of the page
I have an auto and I cant shift to reverse without pushing the button. I assumed this to be a reverse safety.
