Sunroof Hose?
Sunday, April 24, 2005 8:30 PM
When I first got my car I removed a hose that is connected to the sunroof, it goes into the trunk area. There is one on each side of the sunroof. Well a couple months ago i noticed that my rear seat was wet. I really didnt thing anything about it. but anyway Now that my car is completely gutted and it was raining all week. I noticed that water was dripping all over the back of the car(back seat area). I need to know what the hose is for. I will get another one Im just curious.

It always drains but not a crap load you know. Almost impossible to have a perfect seal on a sunroof. If you open your sunroof you should see the chanells that lead to the hole for the drain hose. You should just put it back. That way your interior won't be wet. Easiest way to find out if there really is a leak is to do that. Put it back in, dry your interior, sit inside and have someone spray some water on your car at low pressure like rain would do. See if it leaks.

why would you just remove a part from a car if you didn't know what it was for?

Wait a tic...
There's a sunroof on your car...
A hose that is there...
So you take it off not thinking it was for draining?

I must agree with you on this one. I and my co-workers had a good laugh!!

The biggest question has already been asked to you "Why would you remove something that yu do not know what it is for?" I know you stated you removed it and then forgot, but I would think that after getting your rear seats wet after you removed the drain hose you would have figured it out since your seats never got wet before..
