I am not sure if there is any interest or if its been posted before but I took some pics when I removed the block that stops the rear windows in 4drs from rolling down all the way.
I could do a quick write up and provide the pictures if there is a place to host it. If it is already up somewhere please excuse this post.
"all your bass are belong to us"
Isn't it plainly obvious when you remove the interior door panels what needs to be taken out?
I've never seen it done. I just heard it's a couple foam pieces that need to be pulled out.
Yeah theres just a foam piece on a metal bracket with a ruber stopper on it. Two 10mm bolts hold it in place.
Doesnt really require a write up but I figured why not and took the pictures in case someone wanted it.
"all your bass are belong to us"
I don't have this problem, but even being halfway smart myself, If I can find a write-up how to do something, I'd definitely read it.
If I were you, I'd do the write up, including any possible problems etc.. that could be encountered. (The main reason I read the easier write-ups)
I know it's JUST a Cavalier, and I'm sorry if I hurt your ego.
Uh, z24challenge? You drive a coupe.
The only people this applies to are sedans, and we're in quite the minority here. As Kevin said, it's quite painfully obvious what needs to be removed...

i coulda sworn that someone had posted pics and a brief how to about it along time ago
ive had mine done on my 97 back like 4 years ago
Reading Comprehension owns you.
As I said before: "

He's basically posting the write up right here.
Bolt sizes.
Locations of bolts/foam/rubber stoppers
Hell, pictures help even more.
On top of it, although it's been posted, if he could post how to remove the door panel, I'm sure it would help people out too having both write-ups in one post.
I really don't like being a dick, but seriously, just because you know how to do something, doesn't mean everyone else does.
And not to insult people who know less than me, some people COULDN'T figure out what to remove, how to take off the door panel, what size sockets to use, etc...
Raptor, it may be obvious to most, but not obvious to all.
I still support the idea of a write-up. Derf, I'd search it out, if it doesn't come up with any results, write it up.
I commend you for offering to help folks out with the knowledge you have to share.
And to be honest, IF I HAD A FOUR DOOR SEDAN, I could figure it out myself.
HOWEVER, AS STATED BEFORE, I would READ THE WRITE-UP to learn of BOLT SIZES/LOCATIONS.
POSSIBLE PROBLEMS that could be encountered. And so on......
And well.. I'm sure Derf's pictures, and write-up will support my theory.
Right now, I don't know what the inside of the door looks like, where bolts are, etc... pics let you know what to expect.
Thanks for playing.
I know it's JUST a Cavalier, and I'm sorry if I hurt your ego.
First off, chill out. I read your post wrong and I sincerely apologize for that. But that is
NO REASON to jump down my throat. Perhaps suggesting I read your post again would prove a better course of action next time. My post wasn't even that harsh anyway.
I'm sorry but I'm going to have to disagree here. As far as car modification goes I believe a writeup for everything under the sun kind of defeats the purpose. That's one of the reasons I'm not a big fan of the interior FAQ anymore. A big part of our hobby is learning about our cars and what changes can be made with them. I don't know about you, but I like dismantling my car simply for the knowledge of understanding how everything works. I didn't go anywhere for a writeup on how to remove my interior, much less these window stoppers. I learned it on my own by observation. This is one of those things that people can learn on their own.
1. Remove door panel. Instructions available on TFM.
2. Remove two 10mm bolts. Location: back, bottom portion of door. Can't miss them. There is a third in the area that doesn't need to be removed - take a good look at the bolts before you start removing them. They have styrofoam and rubber behind them.
3. Remove stopper. You might have to rotate it to jimmy it out of the hole available.
Well, there's your writeup. Possible problems? Not having a method of removing your door panel/10mm bolts/not knowing how to rotate a part to get it out of a hole.
I don't have any pictures, since my camera is dead and it's dark anyway.
But next time, jumping my back is unnecessary. I apologize again for misreading your post.

Does the gearing and what not let the window go down all the way even if those are removed?

Sorry Raptor, I'm a little short tempered after realizing all the work I got myself into.
I do, however, still support the idea of a write-up. I think it's cool he offered to do it, ya know?
But ah well.... water under the bridge now... I apologize bro.
I know it's JUST a Cavalier, and I'm sorry if I hurt your ego.
i do mine 1 year ago very easy lol remove the dorr pannel and in the bottom on the there there a foam rubber or what ever unbolt that and that it te windows will go down after like the front
No sense arguing guys. Its either needed or it isnt. I think ill do it and take some pics of the C clip and how it goes onto the window crank. That might help some folks.
"all your bass are belong to us"
I just did it. So purdy...
But, teh front window has 2 arms to support it, the back only has 1. Does this matter?

Now that is needed. Seriously.
you beat me to it, i was going to mention that fact that every week we have to show someone how to remove their window crank, let alone the door panel.
some people want to do the work but are afraid to start it without knowing whats involved. seeing instructions will give allot of people the courage to try it themselves. thast the whole reason for the internet is to share information.

Good Question...
POLYFIBER kits $375 (BMX, BC2, Blitz, Drift, KMAX) *
CRACKED DASH? CLICK HERE!!
My guess is yes.
Take the door panel off and remove the stopper block. Then roll the window down with the door panel still off so you can see what is happening.
I would very much assume it would work.

Yes, I did it, works fine
<img src="http://thespork.dataride.com/theorg/sig.jpg">
Visit The Spork
ive done it to several sedans including my own , and never had any problems
I think its very nice. Us sedans have 2 more windows to roll down then you coupe @!#$s, and now they go down all the way!!! W007!!!
Not to mention the occasional rear passenger loves it.
And people who know nothing about cars think you spent $200 to do it (I speak from experience).
