i like to star out around 80 grit on plastic, seen sometimes with 60 grit of it making gouges in the plastic wich u end up having to sand more to get out.

i personally like to recover materials that are easily seen versus dying them. u could always spray it, if u dont like it, cover it.

yeah. peal off the fabric(PIA) then go to an audio place or something and get some colored carpet to put in its place.

Well, peel off the carpeting around the speaker area on the door panel, and then get off all the goo it leaves, use some goo b gone or some type of adhiesive remover. Then you going to want to scuff it up with a thumb tack or something, your also going to need to get a can of 3m super90 from home depot, that is spray adhiesive. Try and make a paper cut out of the shape you need, then transfer that to a piece of cardboard or something stiff, then use that to cut out the shape of your carpet, then you just spray both the back of the carpet and then the door panel area, and stick it to the door. Read the instructions on the back of the adhiesive can before doing any spraying also. hope this helps,

Using 60 wasn't too bad, it got the design off with no problem, it just required extra sanding when it came to the 80, 120, 220, etc. Turned out looking good thuogh
