I have tried recovering my lid on the center console with vinyl and I cannot get it to wrap around those contours like the factory stuff did, is there any suggestions as to how to get all the corners to wrap neatly, for now I just ended up cutting the wedge pieces off and it looks ok but the lines from the cutting are obvious, how can I get it to be like the old factory vinyl was?

I'd like to know how this is possible as well. I have recovered mine and it looks pretty good, but I had to make 2 very small , tight folds in the very back of my console lid. You can't really see them unless you are sitting in the back seat though.
heh. Good luck, and let me know what you figure out.
I gave up trying to do mine in leather to match my interior after getting really frustrated with it.
I plan to some day stitch a "cover" for it out of leather but haven't got the pattern right yet and haven't touched it in months.
I did mine in Red Sweude. It turned out really good. I would suggest
heating up the leather in the contoured places & trying to stretch it to fit.
(Don't get too close with a heat gun though, as you may burn it)
I also fastened mine with a hot glue gun. Hope that helps a little.

if you mean the litle dip in the middle i suggest gluing it to that part, let it dry then strecth the rest
Hey man the only thing i can say is try useing a cloth like material ... I got some stuff from wal-mart that i used to do my head liner with and i had some extra left over so i did my center lid and plus around my switches for my power windows..its really easy to mold around things.... check it out on here ..

Nope. It was actually heated, streatched & then stapled to the underside of the lid.

Yeah working with vinyl and leather around any kind of curves blows my nuts. I hate working with it, especially when it's so easy and looks perfect then you get to a corner or curve and mess it all up
for the leather take and soak the piece in water and let it get pliable once you do that it will stretch easy then get some clamps claim it on with a towel or cloth between the leather and the clamp that way it doesn't deform the leather then take a hair drier to it and dry it out then you have a pressed form once it is dried apply glue stick it on and tuck the edges that is what i did on my old GTi and it worked perfect after i got it all glued and it was dry completely i applied some conditioner and it was done and lookin purrrrrrrdy
i heated my console arm rest thingy, works great and 3 yrs strong
p.s. dont use marine grade tends to burn really fast vs. the all plastic kind so Ive found, couple weeks I'm going to put leather on
Mike Jones..... Who?
are ypu talk about hte arm rest be done in leather? if so try using a heat gun just to give it a bit of stretch takes a lot of patience but can be done
that looks really nice man
good stuff, nice job
