Viynal repair
Monday, December 05, 2005 8:46 AM
Ok. I'm gonna be doing my interior, but I need to fix a part of the dash top first. The guy who owned the car before me took the CAVALIER badge off the back of the car and stuck it to the dash right above the glove box. When I went to peel it off, peices of viynal came off too. (Pic below) Now when I do my dash, I'm not gonna peel the viynal off. I'm gonna smooth out the texture and prime, paint, clear.I need to find a way to fill in the whole that says cavalier. I don't know how to fiberglass so that is not an option. Any help would be greatly appretiated. Thanks.

Get a new dash cover from a junkyard.

If you can find a good vinyl repair shop around you, they can probably fix it at least reasonably well.

Not sure if you can do it yourself though. They can put a liquid vinyl filler in and then smooth it out for you.

That might be a lot cheaper than a dash. I don't want to have to buy a new dash considering what I am gonna do to it.

Not necessarily, depending on what wrecker you find the dash at.

Trust me. The places in my are charge less than the dealer but they are still rediculous.
