Instrument Cluster (I NEED A REPLY QUICK)

So I switched my old 96 cluster (non tach) with one that does have one, and now my car wont start.....please let me know what to do. Do I need to disconnect the cluster and reconnect it a couple of times so it restarts the Computer?

do this

96-99 J-car

1. Attempt to start the vehicle, then leave the ignition ON. The THEFT SYSTEM light telltale will flash for 10 minutes.

2. When the THEFT SYSTEM telltale stops flashing, start the vehicle. Once the vehicle is running, the password is learned.

1. Start the car and let it die. The theftlock light will be on, DO NOT TURN THE KEY OFF, OR OPEN ANY DOORS, OR TURN ON ANY ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT. Just fold your hands under your arms and wait 10-15 minutes...
2. After the car stalls, the theftlock light will blink. wait until it stops blinking.
3. Wait 1 minute after it stops blinking.
4. Turn the key to off, wait 10 seconds, then start the car again.
You may have to do this 3 times for it to work correctly."

or, if you have an automaic, open the window, turn the key from the outside, and when the light comes on, let it sit there, go do something else......

just find a 96-98 z24 gauge cluster and swap it right in. to keep your milage, you'll need to swap the tumblers from your cluster into the new one. the tach will work without any extra effort. just plug in the cluster and go

you can always get a cyberdyne 2 1/16 digital tach, I had one before in a pillar mount and they work great.

I am a bit late on this one but thank you everyone for your help. Also what I did was had my door open, turned it on let it "die" then closed the door went to my friends house for a few minutes and played grand turismo 4 to kill time. It worked. So thanks again.
