Window glass replacement

Well, I got a fix it ticket for my tinted windows, so does anyone know which year Cavalier windows will fit on an 02 Cavalier coupe? How hard is it to change the window glass out? I'm assuming just popping the door panel off and taking out some bolts. Thanks.

Thank You.
You have officially made my night.

You dont need to get new windows. You can take the tint off. I searched google and found this site and this site.

That should help you out.

LOL sorry I didn't make myself clear. I paid good money to have my windows tinted, and I'm not paying a shop to do it professionally all over again. Its just cheaper for me to buy new windows and then change them back again. Besides, if I get another fix it ticket I can do the same thing again lol.

You don't want tint on your windows so you want to replace the windows???
Change them back again to what???
You can do the same thing again how???

If your thinking about putting in the new windows then going to court, showing it's untinted, then putting the old ones back in, well... that just gay, basically. Not to be mean.
It'll cost a bunch more to have the new windows put in then getiing them retinted a lighter tint. Unless ur just talking about the door windows. But then again, I think its definately not the way to do it.

Alright, the ticket is for my passenger and drivers side windows. What my plan to do is to buy some Cavalier windows cheap from the junkyard, and install them. Take my car to the police station and have them sign off my ticket, and then go home and reinstall my tinted windows. If I ever get a fix it ticket again, I can do the same thing again. Its alot cheap this way, because it would cost me 30 dollars to get the tint removed, then 80 dollars to get my windows retinted. I would rather pick up some junk windows for 15 bucks and do it this way if it isnt too hard. I don't care about your opinion I just want an answer to my question.

I disagree, the glass is not hard to replace, and its easier than giving up your car for a day, paying $150 or more for a good tint job, and having it done all over again. Personally I'm going to be getting some new glass just for this reason, I had to pull my tint off and it actually destroyed the windows (apparently mine were baked on). Now I'm left with untinted front windows that I can barely see through.

To answer the original question, glass from 95-05 will fit in your car, from any cavalier or sunfire coupe.

I thought he meant ALL the windows - like front, rear, door, and quarter panel windows. I was thinking that that would be incredibly stupid.

Finally! thank you! Yah, replacing all the windows would be incredibly stupid. Luckily its just the passenger side windows. Peoples Republik of Kalifornia swear to god this state is insane. I asked that cop "aren't you supposed to be out fighting crime, rapes and murders and stuff". fix it ticket give me a break. I had some drama later that day with the same cop, flipped him off strait to his face and he got crazy and started yelling; couldn't do anything to me though. Anyone with that short of a temper shouldn't be allowed to carry a gun in my opinion.

Dont Do that... look i do this all the time... i have 2 percent limo tints.... just go to the local mall, find a cavalier that looks almost like yours (with NO TINTS) take a few pictures of put you licence plate on top of theres... just for a quick picture and take the ticket to court with the pics you pay no fine and you can always use the same pictures again if you get caught again.

To answer the question... you can use any 95-05 Sunfire or Cavalier coupe windows. All the 3rd gen coupe doors and windows are the same.

Easy to do the swap, too. Just two nuts to take off. Make sure when you get the new windows from a wrecker they've got the retainers already attached to them. Otherwise you'll need to drill out the rivets and swap them over to the other set, which is a completely unnecessary hassle if you can get wrecker windows that have them attached.
