LOL!!! No, there is a clip in the front of the shift knob. Just use a pair of needlenose pliers to pull it out, then you should have no prob getting it off. Hope this helps!

on 03-05 the shift knob is glued on. there is no way to get it off without trashing it. just pull and twist untill your hand hurts then take a break and try again later. eventuall it will come off.

Bascially i did it when i was changing to my short shifter, i like the stock knob better that hot or cold steel. so basically i put it upside down in a vice and used a VERY dull chisel and hit the reverse lockout till it popped the knob off. worked like a charm.

I just posted this again, I don't see why you people don't get this..... YOU DON'T HAVE A CLIP ON THE SHIFT KNOB IF YOU HAVE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION!!!!!!!!!! THAT'S ONLY FOR AUTO MATICS!!!! But what you have to do is just twist, yank, pull and it will come off. That's how my came off.

03 manual shift knob doesn't have a clip. just twist hard and pull up at the same time and it will come off. it does not trash the shift know either. i took mine off several times and put it back on.....and it stayed.

FINALLY T-REX KNOWS WHAT I DO!!!!!!!!!! Mine did not have one, and I want you bagged and only you! To show the pictures of a manual cavalier with a clip on the shifter. Cause I know the 03-05's don't have a clip at all.

Just get the B&M stick. It's got the lifter on it and shortens your throw.

No, it doesn't affect anything. I just like the novelty of it.
