Is there anything I need to know before I replace my cluster in my 2000 Sunfire GT, is there any theft lock or passlock tricks I need to know? also how do I remove my dash?
no, unplug and plug in...done......removal of dash, search around, i have never removed the top dash before
Incase there is a passlock look up the instructions in the Library under FAQs and electronics. You'll know if you go to start the car and it shuts down when you try to drive it. Other than that like Mach said, plug and go. There are also instructions on takin apart the dash. Do a search for it, not sure where it is.
Its not just as easy as plug and play, you need to dissassemble both and switch the odometer and reset the theftlock in the car. You do this by putting the new cluster in and turning the key to acc (dont turn the car over) and keep it like that till the theft light goes off then turn the car off and turn it completely on. That should do it.
You may have a good lookin Cavi, But is it a Z24?

I don't think so. I'm pretty sure that the 00-05 clusters are just plug and play. They've got nothing to do with theftlock or the odometer.
Do you have some personal experience with this? Note that the 95-99 ones are very different so any experience with those is irrelevant here.
2k+ are just plug and play
yeh.. ill be doing this wednesday.. i know 95-99 if u have mechanical odometer u need to swap em over.. as for theftlock i dont know but ill prolly find out when i try mine..
