Guys I've searched the site and not found much for pictures on installed short shifters. I'm looking at the B&M, but I know some people have had success with the Fidanza and even the ebay ones. I'm wondering what the knob looks like for the fidanza and ebay ones, and if you can use a different knob with the B&M. I wonder because its gotta be cold in winter and the reverse lock mechanism looks like it goes inside the shift knob. Thanks
I have one of the ebay ones. It comes with a knob and the reverse lock-out does go up into the knob. That knob does get really cold, I have to wear gloves when I drive in the winter but in the below zero temps we've had lately I would be wearing gloves anyway. The top of the shifter has really big threads that the knob just screws into, so I don't know if you could get a replacement knob for it or not. I like the knob that it came with as it is billet and pretty plain which is what I like anyway so I can't help you with that aspect. As for pictures I'm at my girl's folks house right now and we drove in her car, so I can't get any pics of it at the moment. I'll try to grab some pics later if that helps. I hope I answered some of your questions. Let me know if you have any more.
I have the ebay one as well. got mine from the seller A2rinc i think is his name. excellent guy to deal with. came with everything needed and a shift knob but i just used the stock knob on the short shifter. Here is the exact one i have but it says 01+
01+
or here is one that says for a 2000
2000
and here is his ebay store...
Store
like i said i got mine in a few days and everything was there. you just have to request directions if you want them. or use wild weasels how to.
^^^ that is the exact one I got
Does the knob say anything on it? Doesn't have like a type-r emblem or something on it, does it? lol... just want to make sure. And I realize I should have posted this in this section first, someone moved it for me though, thanks. Thanks for all your help guys
Mines an Ebay shifter and had no logo on the knob at all.
i have a momo knob on my b&m short shifter, i didn't like the knob that came with it, not a fan of metal knobs, they really suck when hot or cold.
if i remember to i'll take picture of it, that is if i actually go near my car lol

here ya go... the fidanza does come with a shift knob or mine did and i bought it new
Yup plain Jane knob just like that one for the ebay one also. After reading what Vincent Morris posted I went and screwed the stock knob onto the shifter though, cause that other knob gets damn cold. Good to go now.
its weighted so its easier to shift or so i read that was the reason behind that

Thanks guys... I was un-aware that the stock knob screws on / off.
Well the stock knob is pressed onto the stock shaft of the shifter, but on the ebay one I got, the a/m knob screws onto threads that they have on the a/m shaft of the shifter, so I decided that maybe the threads on the a/m shifter might dig into the softer material of the stock knob and it worked.
