My interior progress.

I said I would post up pics of my interior as I go along. I will just post some before and after pics as I do each thing. I do custom interiors as a side business so I have way too many ideas lol.
This first part is for the headliner and visors. My headliner was coming off on the drivers side a little and the visors looked really rough. The little flaps were broken on both so when I redid them I just left those off. So my visors are shorter than stock. They are custom visors now, haha. Anyway I used black suede for both. It looks pretty good with the suede.

Did you do the visors yourself?
If so how?

Yes I did the visors. I will give you a step by step and hopefully with the picture you should get the idea.
Pull the old material off the visor. You will see it is made of cardboard. There is a gap between the 2 sides of cardboard. You may need to staple a few places around the sides to make the gap smaller/tighter. This will ensure that the material doesnt come out. Staple about a half inch or less from the edge.
Take the new material and lay the visor down on it. Trace around the visor to make a pattern. Then flip the visor over without picking it up and trace around it on the other side. This will make one piece of material that will fold over the side that has no gap.
Leave about 1/2 inch of extra material around the sides to tuck in. But leave at least an inch extra on the side by the visor arm where there is a large opening.
Cut out your material and place the visor on it. Fold the material over the top where the visor arm goes through and make sure the extra material is lined up evenly around the sides. You do not need a spray adhesive for this. You will want to stretch the material to make sure it is tight on the visor while tucking the sides in.
You can use either a small flat head screwdriver or a pair of tweezers to tuck in the sides. Do one side at a time and try not to pull too hard on the first side. You dont want to end up with no material to tuck in for the other side. Just take your time.
When doing the other side pull it tight so that your material wont be loose. But dont pull too hard or you might pull out the side you already did. When you are doing the side where the visor arm is with the large opening just tuck it in as best you can. This is the only place you may want to use a small dab of hot glue or super glue since there is no way to stuff it in to stay tight. Once your glue dries, if you used any, your done.
If anyone has anymore questions just ask.

thank you that will help me greatly
Also what kind of glue did you use on your headliner?
I used 3M spray on my white velvet and where it didn't show through it fell in a month.
Ive had that problem with 4 of my cars.

I did my visors as well and think I can help here.

Instead of trying to tuck the fabric in around the sides, just peel open the visor. It's essentially a folded over piece of cardboard around a metal plate that's attached to the arm. Peel it open and then just recover it exactly as it was originally. Then put some glue on it and fold it back over again.

I don't really have any close-up pics, but here you can see how they turned out.

Yeah I always use 3M headliner spray but there is also another brand I have used thats stronger and comes out clear. Its Permatex Heavy duty headliner and carpet adhesive. Its in an orange can with a blue cap.

Wild Weasel thats actually a really good idea. I guess I just didnt take them apart cuz I didnt want to tear them up. Plus I am use to doing plastic visors that have little plastic teeth inside that grips the fabric. Your way sounds much easier. Thats one reason I love these forums. You can always find an easier or better way to do something next time.

Always happy to be of service.

Also, I used plain ol' Elmer's Fix-All glue to glue mine back shut, though this would probably be a bad idea for any sort of fabric.

The beauty of it was that I could use as much as I wanted and as it dried, it would peel right off the smooth part of the leather with no effort at all. With the thickness of the leather, I had to clamp it shut overnight to let the glue dry. Came out perfect.
