I posted this in the billet tilt wheel lever and It probably just got lost there. I have had a stupid non tilt wheel as long as I have had my car. I found out a few weeks ago that it IS tilt. I was just missing the lever. And I had a bezel that didn't have the opening cut out. Does this happen often? Why the hell would someone remove tilt wheel? Do you guys think this was factory laziness? It seems silly to make them all tilt and just cover up the tilt feature....
I see lots of people have actually had to swap steering columns.....
I know my car was a rental car for its previous life. I found that on my carfax report. Not to thrilled about that. But oh well. Would the rental company remove tilt wheel? I can't imagine why they would.........
Any thoughts?

Maybe, one less thing to worry about maintenance wise.
I'm betting someone at the factory was just lazy.
Easier to put the different trim on and take off the lever than it is to change the whole column.
Or maybe they ran out of the regular ones and didn't want to hold up the line.
can you can a pic of yours with out the cover on so i can look at mine with the pic in hand? Thanks
See the rusty spring? Below that there is a black box, Below that there is a black lever. Thats the tilt adjuster. I had that. Just needs a lever screwed in to make it work.
The bezel has an opening at the lower left corner to allow the lever to pass through. Mine had no opening. You could cut the hole or just buy a cover off ebay or a junk yard.
I got a new bezel from ebay for 2 bucks....cost more to ship it than it did for the part. but I don't have to spend money on gas junk yard surfing so it was good for me.
Here is what mine looks like now. See the opening on the lower left side? You have to look thru the hole in this picture.
What was there before had no hole. Just an outline of where the hold needed to be.
Maybe the robot that got fired from GM for droping the bolt also worked on your cavalier years back.
ok well i looked at mine and i dont think it has that i wonder if i can add that part and then add the arm that sticks out?!
yeah i needed to replace my whole column
