Only? The most I have ever paid for an engine, including shipping, was $500 for a 2.4 with 4000 miles on it. I bought one not long ago with about 20k on it for $200. I see companies asking $2k for used Ecotecs for example on ebay, they are pretty stupid to think people would pay that much money for an engine that comes in everything these days and can be had for 12 for $.10.

not sure what caused it...think the thermostat got stuck closed and overheated...there was no pressure in the coolant system
