interior update(56k dunno lotta pics)
Tuesday, June 21, 2005 2:18 PM
some pics of my interior big thanks to titus for the cf overlays. actually found the cf armrest from a guy on ebay one time deal i think. i was gonna get the rk sport cf door thresholds but theyre on a backorder so i just saved the $ and am gonna get a cf hood from jason......

the airbag overlay fits goo its the cover itself that doesnt fit very well, this car was wrecked b4 i got it and the cover has never fully taken the right shape but its ok, and yes the sub surrounds are siliconed, these are about 10yrs old and they still hit like crazy I love these subs and dont have $700 to replace them with new crystals so i used silicone to help prevent surround failure in the future.

wow that looks great. Everything turned out good. But I do think you should try to find a new passenger airbag cover. The overlay would sit a lot better on one that is not dented. Now if only I could get my hands on one of those power window switchs
Keep up the good work. Its look great.

Thanks for the comments guys, I ran the wire to the monitor through the vent to where the airbag used to be, thats where all my monitor and ps2 hook ups are. The monito is on a small L bracket that is mounted below the vent so I can just slide the monitor off and remove it if I want and still have the vent in place. I painted the wheels myself having a local paint shop mix the paint for me. Ive been looking for another airbag cover actually since I first got the car, but just the cover is not all that easy to find. Mine fits good except for that one corner its curved too much but oh well. The armrest cover was $90 its very nice in person its a solid cover that fits perfectly overtop the stock lid. The guy did an awesome job on it.

Yup, I taped up the lip cuz I didnt want just plain gunmetal, and since the stock LS Sport wheels are polished I just masked off the lip and scuffed and sanded the rest. Everyone seems to like them Im pleased with them, I gotta find some steelier before winter though, I dont want salt and crap all over them.

I would just use the rims you have for the winter. The big reason people change wheels in the winter is for the stock tires in the snow. I cracked 2 of my stock rims in an accident, and have used my aftermarket rims for 2 NJ winters and no problems. Aftermarket rims have the same finish as stock rims, I don't know why people people worry about salt.

looks good myonly complaint if it were my interior, the cf doesnt lay the same direction on side by side parts, i can see the air cover and arm rest laying diff directions, or even the fog switch and radio part different, but the hvac and the radio , as well as the left vent/switch being opposites would bother me. otherwise looks good

thats exactly how I feel too, not a fan of painting interior at all, especially yellow. imo a yellow exterior with a black (dark) interior is hott.

Hey Rick, I like your car, love the color, lol... Looks like mine I knew I recognized your car from somewhere. Your profile says you're from Tennessee. I was in Tennesse a couple of weeks ago, attending the Duke Fest. I was eating dinner at the Pizza Inn and I saw your car in the parking lot. I did'nt have my cavy though, I had Taurus rental.
