Ok, so maybe this is more "scenic" for the performacne oriented.
A closer look at the background:
I had to "clean" out the garage to get the sunbird in there to drop the new motor and trans in. These are SOME of the turbos I have laying around. How many can you count? There is another bottle of spray bellow the black one too, a 10lb NOS bottle... and a 20lb NX is sitting in front of that tool box on the floor.
A closer look at the HKS ball bearing turbo going on the sunbird:
It started life as a Nissan turbo and was sent out to HKS for a rebuild with HKS ceramic bearings, a ceramic turbine shaft/wheel, an HKS compressor wheel/balancing and a full upgraded high-travel/high-boost HKS wastegate system.
There are two of these turbos in that pile. They are the two up top behind the Turbonetics T-61 with the compressor housing pulled off. Only one of them went to HKS, the otehr is still factory Nissan trim.
I just thought you all my enjoy some "scenic" pictures in my garage!
PS: There are ten total turbos in that pile and four more still sitting around in other places. And yes, i do realize how rediculous that is.

forgot to add that the two nissan/hks turbos are ball bearing. A lot of you have already seen my instructions on-line for rebuilding a standard T3 center section. I will be adding detailed instructions for rebuilding a ball bearing turbo soon, as well as a T4 center section shortly after.

^^^^^^^Indeed they are super sexy. This one is a convertible. Man do I love to drive it. let me tell you though... this thing is the biggest pain in the ass that I have ever worked on. There is sooooooo little room to work around in. Not only that, it's is 15 years old and the old engine leaked like crazy. Every bolt is stuck. Right now it is in for the swap over to the built engine and the 5spd swap. Everything under the hood is almost out already.
Ahhhhh... headaches.
I can't wait until this things motor is finished and the new 3rd gen shell comes in to get the drag motor dropped in.... they are sooo much easier to work on.

I swear I do not have one single picture of the car running and being enjoyable. Two days after I got the actual car the head cracked and I lost all my coolant. The day after I got a new head on it, it spun a bearing.
It's going to be fast though........

. Thanks for the support guys. I really need it with as much trouble as this has been. I just got back from the parts store now. I ordered some new shifting linkage cables and TRIED to price out anew clutch but everything they had available was a little..... uhhhh..... stock(?) for what I'm trying to do here. Hopefully I will be able to find something ASAP because it is one of the only things right now keeping me from bolting the transmission up to the engine.
I can't wait to post 20psi pull videos!
