Congrats on the new parts. I can see you using the turbo but not the intercooler...

?
I said that mainly cause the intercooler is really small and was made for a vehicle that was intercooling through a hoodscoop, not through front mount intercooling.

^ Was thinking the same thing.
make a functional STi style hood and find a way to effectively top mount the intercooler, now that would be unique and bad ass!
On the other hand....you have other fingers.
i had lots of toys when i was young.slinky,etc.but once i found my penis, that was all she wrote

It would also be a terrible way to intercool a J-body. It has been done and it isn't worth the headaches.

so just because that intercooler gets air directly from a hood scoop it wont work as good as a front mount??
so your saying, more air would pass thru the hood scoop (mounted on a hot engine) that the air passing thru it, then if it were mounted in the opening of my body kit (it would also be cooler in this location.....
keeping all this in mind, im only gunna run 6psi, i think it will be very efficient for my application

The point is that it's designed for a hood scoop and to be located on top of the motor, not to be used as a front mount. It might be cooling efficient enough for the STi motor but might not be good enough for a front mount design with our motors.
It's his parts, he can do whatever he wants, I just personally wouldn't do it.

What differnce does it make? An intercooler is and intercooler...Logic wise putting a intercooler on the front of your car will take more air then one just getting air from a hood scoop. That intercooler isnt that small...its about the same size as the people who take the DSM intercoolers onto thier cars. You could probably push a good 8 lbs on that without a problem. Not all intercoolers are long...The Evo coolers are small in with but work just as well.

thats the dumbest thing I ever heard
c'mon adam
air is going to go thru it wherever its mounted... all air to air intercoolers are exactly the same
just cuz its mounted ontop of the engine under a scoop doesn't mean it won't work in the bumper....

I never said it wouldn't work.

Like said before, I never said it wouldn't work....and logic wise, you are correct.
