* Widebody progress, nothing to spiffy *
Friday, January 13, 2006 1:15 AM
Well, after first taking on this project when I had my summer layoff I have finally gotten back at it and making some progress. Last few weeks we've been working in reverse making sure that all signs of rust are no more and now are finally getting closer to finishing. If all works out as planned the car should be ready for primer by the end of the month. Still a lot more work to go, but I'll let the updates explain in the future....anywho, on to the pics! **comments & suggestions welcome**

It does look good so far. I really can't tell how wide the front flares are though.

Please dont end the widebody at the back of the doors. Too many people do that.

Thanks for the comments guys, really means alot! lemme answer some questions

Manta Z wrote: Are you going to get wheel spacers or is the widebody not that far out?

Not really all that sure what wheels im going to be running just yet, the widebody is only about half an inch wider than the quarter panel already was at the wheel well but most def. will make sure the wheel is just barely able to tuck some

WHITECAVY wrote: I really can't tell how wide the front flares are though.

they flare a pretty good amount in the center-most part of the panel, other than that it blends back into the body a bit

Front bumper I purchased from Samantha over the summer, talk about a road trip!! As for the stereo...details are still sketchy. Dont want to lose my backseat so I'm thinking a f/g trunk setup in the future but that will have to wait until I get all the parts (air ride, amps, subs) to finally draw up the set up. Mods for speaker pods on doors, kick panels, and possibly back panels will follow as well

looks really good, but you are atleast the third person doing that widebody with the drift kit. Definently no points on originality. I am anxious to see what you do with the doors though. Maybe that will set it appart. BTW u better paint it red again because you know thats the best color

quick update-
Just got back from the shop and started molding rear drivers side quarter into bumper, finished shaving pass. door handle, and began the custom panel across the door until one of the other body men at the shop and i got into it over stupid Sh!t and he ripped it down while the fiberglass was still healing. He's a drunk, oh well....hopefully pics tomorrow
