Wednesday, February 08, 2006 11:32 AM
well thanks to aaron and matt i got my exhaust installed this weekend

here is what she started like

here are some pics from the header install

thanks to

heres where the baby came from! if anyone remembers the post matt made in off topic

here i just couldnt quite reach to get those bolts off the old manifold

so we jacked me up

and sometimes tall people need help too! haha

new header and old mani

and she is finally in!

and here is matt's (ecotecpower) car in winter version

and here is his ridulously good looking trunk setup

thanks for looking and the car is running great now, had everything else installed, the exhaust has a real low tone

the guy are the exhaust shop didnt want to use my stock tip because it was small, so he put this one on, and i think it flows will with the lip kit

bad thing is, they did a shafty job putin it on, its real ugly if you look in the tip

but oh well, i love the setup, and i can feel some top end gains but now im getting a lot more attention from other drivers, whcihc im unsure if i like yet!

thanks again for looking!

cool man, hows it sound? the header is alittle tricky to put on if you didnt know to take the dipstick out which i had to do on mine.

Man....looks great but I would nut-slap the guy that installed the tip like that. I would personally go with a nice Flowmaster tip like this one here.

Yeah I like the style of the tip too, but the way it was put on there seems kinda janky. I'm definitely liking the way you car has progressed. Keep up the good work.

about that trunk set up, when you invert the subs like that how do you figure out the size of the box that you need, what kind of cubic feet would you need for something like that?

Everything looks great, but didnt that guy at the exhaust shop basically just ruin that brand new muffler of yours by crushing it to fit that tip? looks like the output got pinched down pretty bad. kinda limits your choice on future tips to oval, don't you think?

as for the trunk setup question, i dont know, you would have to ask matt

but no the muffler tip is fine, they welded a piece of 2.25 piping on and crunched that so it can just be cut off

You just go with the same size box you would if the subs where inside the box. As long as one side of the sub is sealed thats all that matters.

Damn i envy you man,you have the navy blue car i wanted(i got black)a Gm S/c with a 5 speed(i got auto).

Thats one nice pile you spent on the S/C alone

Hope you like the new exhust, but if i was doing it i would of made it a dual exhust

BTW,this has nothing to do with the install, but with the jack

how tall are you

Looks good Brian. What series of Flowmaster you running? I have a 40 series on my sedan and it is pretty quiet till I hit the boost. Has a nice low tone that I like.

I can't beleive it, Aaron has hair! I am used to seeing him with no hair. LOL

As for Matt's trunk, looks better in person than in the pics.
