1st for a J-body?
Monday, June 12, 2006 1:35 AM
My new seats, they are from a 06' solstice
The pics don't do them justice. They are mint, the car only had like 800m, and oh are they comfy.

Nice! Did they bolt right up or did you modify the bracket?

Eh...old man with a Corvette now...it was bound to happen sooner rather than later right?

Dang....

haha! I was hoping to scroll down and find the answer to the (do they bolt right in) question..

And did you get them through a junkyard or dealer?

I had won some on ebay from the guy I got my S/C from but after reading about how the owners with cloth seats(which I wanted) were having problems with the bottom sagging and the foam being loose or something like that I didnt get them. Looks like you have the leather though, which are supposed to be fine according to most owners. Now give us some info on the fitment!

lol sorry guys, I work 2nd shift and just got home.

well to start, they did not bolt right in, it took about 4hrs. for me to fab. brackets from scratch, didn't take any pics, but I will try to get some by this weekend, I still need to remove them to paint them. The downfall is I made brackets w/o sliders, just mounted them where I wanted them.

The stock Solstice sliders, where too wide when I 1st put them in, so the seats wouldn't go all the way down to the floor, and they almost touched the roof. Also I couldn't really use the stock cavy ones, cause they mount to the seat differently Vertical vs. Horizontal.

And yes 97cavie24ls is right, I found them on ebay, but the yard they where at was only like 4.5hrs away, so I just called them and made a offer under the buy it now

The odd thing is there is a seat heater in the pass. seat but not the driver, guess I'll have to order another one from work.lol

you sure that isnt a air bag in the passenger seat ?

or something else like the seat belt or weight pad

i dont remember them having heated seats at all

i know they have weight sensitive and seat belt sensors for the air bag system , so it knows if the person sitting in the seat is the correct size based off the weight to set the air bag off

Hmmm, these sound like some really heavy seats. Well I'll continue with my miata mx5 seating I had from the get go.

There is no heated seat option for the Solstice at all. I got every option except the smokers package on mine. 97cav is right on the weight sensor. It is a stupid thing for when someone is in the seat to make the stupid seatbelt sensor ding out of control and annoy the driver!

no its for when the passenger does not weigh enough OR there is no passenger so the passenger side air bag does not go off
