I was thinking of submitting this for the calendar shoot...
either this, or a nice smokey burnout, or a nice big fireball...
here's the chillin picture I was thinking of using...
I was thinking of shooting the same picture again in order to better stage it.. or... just use it as is
thoughts?
I really don't feel the car is "calendar worthy" so I'm trying to think of a different type of approach than just a pretty picture of the car (even though thats what this is)
I like it
I say crop the other car out of it tho
its a really good pic tho
i'd say big smokey burnout....its more fitting of your car than a nice pretty set up shot like the one above.
you didn't make it into the calender because your car is nice to look at....you were voted in because we all respect you and what you are doing for the J-body community

Show some of the power your making. Probably a front view... Because most other n/a tuners would be sick of looking at the rear very shortly after launch.
Mine is going to say SHOW > GO to show off my cockyness with my beautiful paintjob.
Haha.
Not.
I don't see how it could make a calendar being unpainted. If it was, then sure. Just my $0.02

its a popularity contest, not really nessesarily all about the cars.

Exactly, it is pretty sweet that it is a fast J, but it is not a car I would want to stare at for a month long.
POPULARITY CONTEST for the loss.
BTW, anyone see the October 2007 Calendar J ?
Id like to see a nice big fireball or burnout; or maybe some kinda like closer funder/front shot with wheel turned showing the radial would be cool, but dont realy think that would be popular for a calender shot. You need to match the picture with the go>show logo somehow. I personaly think your car looks good even with steelies and not being painted, but dont think its calender worthy as a "show" car.

See what you ppl are missing though is he was voted in for speed... not looks... I could care less what his car looks like painted or not painted, the point is his car is fast hence why he is in the calendar. As for as not looking at it for a month... If I could see his car everyday, I would, just so I can pick it apart and get ideas for my build. O wait I see him once a month for that
... What I think is, some of you guys are butt hurt cause you didnt get voted into next years calender and decided to start drama in a post asking for advice on a pic... Good job on doing nothing positive...
Also if it was a popularity contest... A lot of other cars would've been on the top just a thought. And if you wanna rebuttal that heres another thing. The calendar in essence should be of cars who drastically changed in the course of the year. And from looking at the current entrants something has changed with all of their cars. Appearance wise or Speed wise.
Anyway not to derail PJ's post. I say no scenic pics, well maybe just one, but the rest burn outs at Atco
Under Construction
Here's my opinion:

Do that, but put the car a little further to the right in the frame...
On the left side of the pic, do a collage of about 3 photos which match your "go > show" statement.

I agree, that'd be sweet.

primer and steelies dont make for good calender shoots....
Car is definetly Calendar worthy!!
I'd say a nice smokeshow or a fireball!! Post up one of each and let us decide
I vote action shots PJ

some people make a valid point like entering one of our cars in a classic car show. were not classics so it doesnt nessicarily fit in. or putting my car which probalby runs 19's on the track, its not what it is. i think skwirl should stay away from some sort of staged show car picture because thats not what his car is about, i think the only true shot of his car should be on a track, maybe as he crosses the line with the times up or doing a burnout getting ready to line up. the people voted for his car not as a show car but as a little n/a monster, so thats what the pic should represent.

No offense meant but I agree I do not feel it is calender worthy. As said before it it was painted and not on steelies maybe. Soundsgood also has a piont about representing it for what it is.

the pic he has above to me is not calendar worthy. now a pic at the track or doing a smoky burnout, that'd work in the calendar. you can look past the unpainted parts and steelies then.

a pic at the track PJ...
I didn't vote for your car to be represented as a show car. I voted for your car because it was the first 14 second N/A Eco.

x2....... Same thing with my car..... sure, it WAS clean and all..... but was never in the class of Fetter's car, or Skilz's, or just about any other car in the calender...... Cars like PJ's and mine are recognized because of our accomplishments at the track and on the dyno.

thats what I figured guys... I know why i'm in the calendar.. a "pretty shot" just isn't the skwirl's style...
at least not at this stage anyway...
burnout -or- fireball it is! picture coming soon =P
Speepracerz, your car is the perfect image of what I would love my car to be. Its my favorite looking car on the site and on top of that is part of the 400hp club. Now back on topic lol....
I vote fireball shot. Or if you werent gona do an action shot, I think something like a closer view of the fender/front bumper with the wheel cut showing the radial. People would prolly think thats kinda gay but I think it would be realy cool and would still fit the go>show logo. But again I think more would vote on an action shot. Cant wait to see more pics!
