Ok its not exactly a how to but here it goes: i bought a universal AFPR and then found out that there is no aftermarket support to adapt one to the factory fuel rail, so i decided to make my own!
Here is the factory FPR and i needed a way to mimic that nipple that goes into the fuel rail

here is the finished adapter after an hour or two on the lathe
here is the prototype that should be getting put on the car within the next couple of days

I always thought the LT-1 AFPR's were a direct fit since they use the same OEM part:

Isn't that lip on the 'hose' side a little aggressive? I'd be worried about it chewing through the hose...

yeah it is, i took those before i filed it down though. Now it is as smooth as the part where the o-ring goes

I know the LT1's one would fit but thats 170 dollars where i got the universal one for twenty bucks so i figured putting in a little work to make it fit wouldn't hurt or cost much.

Sadly, most of us don't have access to a lathe, so Summit's offering would still be cheaper.

1. no disadvantages that i know of
2. The advantages of an adjustable one are endless, turbo applications, nitrous, N/A builds. there is really a great variety of advantages to it

1. Well i would be worried about it being to far from the rail. May not be a problem but I dont really know if distance affects if.
2. So basically it allows you to get fuel pressure perfect for however you use it?

I had well still have a AFPR exactly like that... The diaphram inside will burst and will then cause your motor to suck fuel through the vacuum line. Then good luck trying to get a hold of the people you bought it from because they dont care.

1) Other than taking up more space? None (that are measureable at least).
2) It allows you to make your injectors seem "larger" or "smaller".

thanks for the warning but as far as budget goes i have around 35 bucks into this and figured id try it, if it does end up working then i will step up to a more quality name or better afpr but as of right now its just a test. Also im gonna try not to cut anything or make it permanent so that if something were to fail i could easily swap it back to factory. Last but not least i was looking for a mock up of something to give more support to the LN2 community so if someone needs an adaptor i can make one or they can copy my design, but thanks again for the warning. Ill do more research on better yet affordable afpr to adapt to our engines, also ill post updates on the process.

yup the one from summit does, but it also costs almost 180 bucks!

First I tried JB-Weld... stupid, i know. That was a while ago.
Then, that broke like the second time I removed the fitting.
So, then I just melted Brass in there to weld the two together. Much better.
here is an update with the afpr almost completely installed in the car:
here is the finished adapter
after installing it and making sure it was a snug fit so that i wouldn't get any fuel leaks
flaring the feed line that goes into the factory fpr so that the hose i installed wouldn't slip off even with a clamp
here is the feed line to the original fpr with my hose attached to it going to the afpr

thanks for bashing! but thats all we had in stock at Autozone and yes it will be swapped out for high pressure fuel hose. this is simply a mock up and to see it if worked and to check for leaks and such on the parts that were machined.

Hey... I'm sure he was just making sure you do it right. There is a lot of people that have messed up huge doing stuff like that thinking it will work. Just think fuel all over the hot engine with that size of line... I don't even want to see that.
Someones gotta say something, even if you know already (which i'm sure you do). I just can't assume you know heater hose is low pressure and probably is not fuel compatible.
^^^^^^yeah i know that, i just used it for mock up because its hella cheap and make sure the prototype would fit with no worries.
Upadte:
found a leak going from the afpr to the fuel rail, so i switched to high pressure braided line used for hydraulic type pressures. I still couldn't eliminate the leak so im gonna go shopping at NAPA and see if i can get a smaller hose to fit a little more snug.
