The pontiac wheels are killing the car.
I've sort of always wanted one of those style Js, I'd 3400 swap it and have a ball.
I got a stripper disc for my drill and buffed most of the rust out. im gonna cut into it when its time for the real paint.. :-( im just doing what i can to hold it together for a while...
man to bad your not closer bye .. id love to help you out on this first gen.. or anyone for that matter.. around here first gens at pick n pull are dime a dozen... Z24 even ... i mean REALLY DINE A DOZEN ...
that would be awesome I wish I could get some help too. I'm not the best with body or engine work but im learning as it goes down. Im not 100% newb this is like my 9th car (and theyve all needed work) but as far as major repairs go im fresh to the game. my main issue i need to get done sometime is my drivers side floor has a hole in it the size of a big can of coffee so I think ill have to cut it all out and rivet some new metal in or have someone weld it in.. and get new carpet and new seats. the center console is f'd up but ill just buy a new one and paint it to match. i like hearing the comments and thanks to all
you need hood pins why now?
Riddle me this... riddle me that...
Actually the LeBaron wheels look pretty good. Why not put the whole set on and get a pic?

latch broke loose of where it attaches to the car when i was driving home and the hood became the shape of my windshield and roof.... never letting that happen again!!

Yeah, I imagine so o.o; Not to mention the whole being stuck in the dog house for taking her rims huh?
My wife's been trying to talk me into putting the stock wheels off her 03' Malibu onto my cavy and then getting her some custom wheels.... I'm pretty sure they won't fit anyway, but I've never bothered to check into wheels for the Malibu so I don't really know for sure.
sell it/ junk it and get a newer j.. not to sound mean but easiest solution.
,ake a patch panel cut out all the rust and weld the patch panel in.or find flors from a donor car and cut em out and put em into yours
holy crap I don't think I've ever seen a hole that big in a floorboard before, I would definitely recommend just scrapping it and getting a different car
Nuts to the idea of quitting. This car is too nice looking to just essentially toss in the dumpster. Just cut off the rust now before it eats away more metal, then get some measurements, some metal, and a welding torch. 1st gens look too good when they're done to get rid of it.
