I finally got around to tinting the reverse lights on my '00-'02 Cavalier taillights today. In my opinion this is by far the best look for a Sunfire Sedan; clean and simple, the way it should be. I used red Metalcast paint to tint them and they will be cleared by the body shop when the evil eyes and painted door handles are done in a few weeks.

I WILL NOT BE GETTING RID OF THE SUNFIRE REAR BUMPER FOR A CAVALIER REAR BUMPER. I love the look of the Sunfire rear bumper, the only thing I didn't like was the trunk panel and spoiler which have obviously already been taken care of

Not sure if many of you have seen this rear b4 but I really thought it was different and only ever saw it once on this sunfire... Kinda looks like the trunk bezzel is upside down but its not.

I used DupliColor red MetalCast spray paint.
And I used Shadowfire's directions for how he tinted some miscellaneous lights using MetalCast. The only difference was I used about 10 real light coats because I wanted to make sure the reverse lights matched the rest of the taillights as closely as possible. The inner and outer taillights will be clear coated by the body shop in a few weeks when the car goes in for evil eyes and painted door handles so for now they aren't very shiny, but overall I am very happy with how they turned out. The MetalCast red matches the red of the taillights perfectly!

tails look good. I think you need a Sunfire GT rear bumper and toss the stock exhaust but thats my opinion.
A Sunfire GT rear bumper will not fit on a Sedan. The exhaust will eventually be replaced, but not until the modifications listed below are completed.
- front bumper from a '00-'02 Sunfire GT
- fog lights from a '00-'02 Sunfire GT
- Sylvania Silver Star bulbs (880) in the fog lights
- galvanized mesh painted black in the front bumper openings
- "PONTIAC" front filler plate from a '00-'02 Sunfire GT
- evil eyelids welded to the hood
- 6" 5% tint strip on the inside upper windshield
- side skirts from a '00-'02 Cavalier Z24
- paintable front and rear door handles from an '03-'05 Cavalier LS Sedan painted to match the color of the car
- all windows tinted 35%
- 6" black vinyl strip on the inside upper rear window
Once these things are done, I will get started on the engine, but for now the exterior is taking priority over everything else since it's the main thing I am concerned with and it's the first thing people see.

You are going to be so happy you had the tails professionaly cleared. It truly is a make or break deal in the looks of them.

My thing is, it's a Sunfire Sedan. I am not trying to make it look like something it's not. The
only reason I added the Cavalier taillights was because I couldn't stand the Sunfire Sedan trunk panel/taillights and Cavalier taillights provided the only real easy, clean looking solution. I also just don't think any Cavalier rear bumper would look right on a Sunfire. Just my .02.

Filler piece on each side? Unfortunately they don't make any lip kits for Sunfire Sedans so the rear bumper will be staying as is. No spoiler as I despise any type of spoiler on my car. I think the car looks so much "cleaner" spoiler-less. Thanks for the kind words though.

Yep. Rear bumpers can only be switched between Cavaliers and Sunfire
Sedans. Sunfire Coupe rear ends are completely different.
