The Bubbamobile from the beginning to the very end...
Thursday, October 09, 2008 11:07 AM
I purchased the Bubbamobile back on August 3, 2003. It was an up and down 5 years, with me trying to sell her and than work on her. To people not being able to drive worth a damn and smashing into her. Today was her last day in my possession, now she is probably in some scraped yard about to be picked apart by vultures, but hey thats life. I have to say in the little over the 5 years I owned her, I've learned a lot more about this car than I could''ve fathomed. Its going to suck looking for the replacement but lets see what happens.

Anyway onto the timeline.... Pictures for slow people

No I dont have pictures of my cav when it was stock.

This was sometime around 2006

end of 2006 beginning of 2007

Mid 2007

Late 2007 As you can tell the Type J bumpers didn't last long lol

Beginning 2008 TS hood added

April 2008- First Accident, some dumb broad ran a stop sign and totaled my car....

June 2008- Got the car back from the body shop

September 2008- Accident # 2... Hit and run by a drunk driver

October 8, 2008 Car is declared totaled and I bought it back..

Tear down time was about 4 hours that is including 2 cops stopping me and giving me a warning that my neighbors were calling the police on me. I left the crap I didn't need or paid less than 50 for so all in all I couldn't care less for it.

it sucks but hey thats life =/

Plans all depend on whether I can get a loan to by a new car or not.

Jeff Goodman wrote:sucks man , so are you gettin another J for a replacement or whaat ?

Depends on loan acceptance. But I do have my eyes on a few J's

The cops were like you cant work on your car in the street.. Which is true in NJ you can get a fine for working on your own car in the street. But they let me go with a warning, well the first one made me put away all my parts and tools and put the car on the ground. The second a biker cop told me that people are complaining just finish up what your doing soon. He was cool with everything.

The next car will either be if I get a loan a SS Cobalt with a LE5 motor, or a Scion tC... If I dont get a loan it will be another J.

I have to say the Cobalt SS is the better choice if you get the loan, ECOtec FTW!!!

IMO..If I had that much bad luck, with my Cavalier within a short period of time like that; I would buy a POS for cheap and call it a day....That's one thing about modding, your car can be beautiful one day and totaled the next; along with the aftermarket parts you purchased with no real reimbursement for all the money put into it. That is why most of us store our cars for most of the year....Unfortunately, I don't have that ability.....Any way, I feel your pain, and hopefully you can find something decent for yourself....good luck man..!!

Nice choices. I think I would go with the tc if you like comfort and ergonomics.

Still it sucks the car was cool good luck with what you pick.

I had the car for 5 years.... worked on her myself and with the help of jgm members. The bad luck only came during the span of the last 6 months. Which is pretty understanding considering all of those years I lived at the same place basically parked in the same area on my block. It was bound to happen, and it does set me back a few months, but I'll move on and build a better car. I purchased the car back from insurance for $400 so I could take roughly $8,000 in parts off. The prick who did hit my car will be paying that bill along with punitive damages.

WHITECAVY wrote:Got damn, didnt even know about the rear end by the drunk driver, that sucks

It sucks but I got over it, pretty quickly once I finished dealing with my insurance.

M-1 Erma Jean wrote:Nice choices. I think I would go with the tc if you like comfort and ergonomics.

I actually really like the way the tc looks and sitting in one I felt really comfortable. Im hoping payments on it wont be crazy just gotta wait and see. Thats the one big thing that is making me keep my parts right now.

ahfunaki wrote:Man that sucks, sorry about your luck...

I avoid the accidents it just people cant drive worth a damn lol. Both of my accidents this year were caused by other drivers; hell one of them I was sitting in my house watching tv when it happened. Everyone said it was a sign with the first accident the last one put the nail in the coffin for her.

The parts are staying in my possession till I know what car I am getting for certain. Once I know that, the parts will be gone, and the lip is already spoken for by QBE.

O I will be suing the person who totaled my car. He was caught about 4 blocks away after he smashed up a few more cars. I am going shopping tomorrow again for the new car since the check came in lets see what happens.

Yea if you feel like going to the junkyard the car is in lol. I didn't feel like taking it off since I knew for certain I wasnt getting a 2200 again.
