As many of you know I am working on a cavalier front end conversion. I have collected all of the parts, and now finally have been able to do some work on it all.

I'll start with an introduction to my 'lil baby Phoebe. She is a 1996 Sunfire GT, 2.4l 5spd.











The engine is mostly stock, just an intake I got of eBay.





Does anyone know where this hose goes, and maybe a part number for it? It has a small hole that leaks oil on start up.



The interior is plain too...









She does have some ugly spots, but that will be fixed soon!





I have 2 new doors that I will be painting and putting on soon.



On to the progress on the parts.


Fenders:

(I still have a some work to do on the hood.)

Everything put away for the night (When I thought I was done for the day, obviously I did a little more work on the hood)




I should be getting everything finished and put together by next weekend!

Spray bomb is just temporary, and better than multi color till I get my paint job this winter. My friend will be spraying the whole car 2 tone for me, and I just need to get the paint.

Why not just leave the Sunfire front on until it's closer to time for paint? Spray bomb is just extra sanding when it comes time to prep for paint.

Or an even better plan not wasting the time of spray bombing and just putting the cav front end on when your ready for paint.

That's the positive crankcase ventilation hose, it leads to the air oil separator on the block right underneath the intake manifold. No need for a part number, just go get a new piece of hose for it.

I like where your going but i have to agree...i would have either left it the way it was till paint or dealt with the color dif...

Should have just put the new parts away until the paint job.

While that's not the worst spray job I've seen, it's definitely not good. I hope your buddy is a pro, because if he's just going to rattle can it like you have, you're wasting your time.


2010 Honda Fit LX

As far as waiting, I thought that I was going to be able to get the paint a lot sooner, and I got the bumper in exchange for the fenders and lights off the fire, so I kinda needed to get those parts to him. And the spray now isn't quite finished. I still am going to sand and put about 2/3 more coats on as well as clear. The hood only has 2 coats on as of now.

My friend paints out of his garage, but has professional equipment, and used to paint for a living, so I think that he's pretty good.

Stop right there do not add anymore layers of spray bomb to those parts.

Your only making it harder for him to paint.

If you have no choice but to use those parts just leave them alone till he is ready to paint them.

New fenders kinda dinged up?

Spray bomb will work for now, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.. Just take your time and do it properly.

My friend painted my front bumper from a can... looks flawless.

I was thinking the same thing about the fenders, they need fixed before install. Alot of wave to them both...
