updates over the last year

so some may know i bought aarons turbo kit off of him right before he had finished it, put it on the car last spring. soon as it was done and i was driving it back from the exhaust shop the trans went out on me. i didnt want to spend more money on it at the time so i let it sit. well the bash was coming up. wife told me to just go grab another trans and put it in to fix it. so i went out grabbed one put it in. and the car ran worse. so i pulled the trans again, put in a brand new torque converter. then it wouldnt start. turned out all the gas had evaporated in the tank ( yeah you were right chris) so we got it running started getting it tuned, broke the fmu so i had to rebuild it. and finally got it running decent. we took it out ran it a little filled up the tank and saw up around 7lbs of boost as we kept blowing the charge pipes off. so now it needs to go to the painter to fix where i removed the battery tray. we cleaned up the wiring a little but still have more to do when its warmer out. hopefully i can get a few miles on the car before i drive it to cincinnati in a few weeks. finally got myself a good camera so the pics are better but not great, still have to learn how to use it. nikon D3000 oh and the car is for sale if anyone is interested.

on to the pics.

ben putting the fmu on for the first or third time

cris being a guido

fixing the fmu

starting of the tuning finally

looks awesome, one question though... the piece off the TB is from an RKSport short ram intake, that nub on the side is for the valve cover breather hose, it looks like a vacuum cap is just stuck on the end of it? I'd assume you and Aaron wouldn't overlook that, what did you guys do with it?

lookin good, how much are you boosting right now? may want to look into getting the pcv worked out just for safety purposes. either way you definitely got a clean system on there. id kill for that cold side pipe

If selling, this car needs to be in the front lobby of GM.

Jay... seriously... dont sell it.
there's too much blood sweat and swear words with this car.. you will regret it the second you sold it.

Be that guy that's 60 years old that has a millenium tuner car that the young kids wish they had.

and lets just say you ignore my words and sell it... I would expect who ever bought it would at least throw down extra cash because they knew they were getting a deal of a life time.

again...

Jay... don't sell it.

darkstars i may have overlooked that. i just added the breather filter on the valve cover and the cap was just plugged off. i have heard some people say not to use the breather filter but hadn't really dug into it any as to why its an issue or if its not.

chris. my bad.

matt. most of my fun is had thru building the car. i want to build another car. and to me it makes sence to sell this one and get some cash to start a new project, its that or just completly redo this one and i'd be spending the same money as i would on a new build but without all the extra cash from selling it. then if i did keep it, i'd be paying storage on it because i wouldnt have the space in the garage to keep it, id rather just sell it and start with something new. the only thing i think i'll regret is the time it will take to get another car to show quality status. im not like a fanatic j-body guy personally. i could have just as much fun modding a honda or a nissan as a j-body.

vince. im only at arouns 7lbs of boost. thinking of upping it to around 9 and calling it a day.

Looks great, I would love to get my engine bay that clean. Maybe I should do that while I'm doing some work to it over the winter. I know what you mean with the fun part being building the car. I bounced around the idea of selling my car and moving onto another project but I don't know if I feel like doing that since my car only has 34k on it and I really like it. Who knows..

definitly one of the top 5 BEST built jbodies of all time IMO probably number 1, you do amazing work and have great eye on what a project should like when done it does suck if you do sell but in the same time I would like to see what your crazy mind comes up with next

ya i think if we tied the hose in to the valve cover, it may help w/ your cold side charge pipes from blowing every time. and getting a larger size t-bolt clamp. cuz once you start driving it more in the summer, the breather filter will start spewing oil and that's one thing i nor you don't want to see in that engine bay.

np. haha.

yeah, that and soon as it goes to the painter and i get a tab welded on to secure the hard pipe that i bet will take care of 80% of that issue as well. im hating this weather, i had hoped to have it out driving it to get some seat time before the show.

i think i've had my breather filter on for a good 10k or over and never had it spew anything...... looking at replacing it soon, but still no oil. just sayin.

also forgot to add, as usual sndsgood, absolutely gorgeous car. and it sucks to think of you getting rid of it, but good luck with any other future project, as i think we all know whatever that project is it will more than likely come out as nice or nicer than this one.
