Hello, welcome to the official build thread of project ReRun. She is a 2000 Cavalier Z24 coupe with the twincam auto trans, loaded with options and only 50k young lol. We purchased it as a replacement of the current j. The main goal at hand is to get it up and running and on the road asap. We have a very small background on the car as far as why she dont run but ill investigate it upon the removal of the twin. We will be swapping in a eco instead after we thought about it. This will document the progress from Dead to running again. keep in mind this is just the begining and will be updated as progress is made. Comments and such welcome. Just remember the main goal is to swap it at this point. She is very clean inside and out. Rusr free and just needs a bath lol.
Anyway on with the pics. Many more to come.
The Day we met ReRun as she kinda fell into our possesion. lol.
After came home the last time the motor will be seen like this
Oh and the plugs sitting there was like that from previous owner. Why idk it had the coil pack/plugs/boots out. we tried a few diff things with my donor motor that i knew was good but the motor just wasnt working. So Here comes eco lol.
More to come.
Thanks Jazer
Made a huge step today with it.
found this one after i gave it a much needed BATH. Got all the nasty brakedust off and the tree crap and green from being under a tree for a while. So shiny

most that was from when u were there i just never took pics but the axles and sturts n such yes. the new ones callin lol
Hahaha...Someone came home with a loaded diaper and was in a bitchy mood, so the "PHOTOGRAPHER" didn't want to be around them...Hence the reason why there isn't pics from you working on the struts/axle...Which dang, wish I could have gotten a pic when you yanked the axle out and just about busted yourself in the face with it, flying back onto the ground...AND, you didn't have much done until you came home after 5pm, SO, by the time you ACTUALLY got to the point where you could pull the engine out, it was almost dark out, then started raining...I was busy being your lil bitch helper, putting newspaper down on antifreeze that leaked everywhere down the driveway and putting stuff away in the trunk...Then, I was the human light pole, holding the light up for you so you could see what the hell you're doing while you get the engine out...Sorry I'm not good at multitasking to hold a light and take pics of an engine removal in the pitch dark...Lets do it again then so I can get pics!!!
LoL...
Alas, old engine is out...It's freakin raining today, so that's puts a hold on plans...Bummer...
I do have some pics on my camera, but I haven't had a chance to post them yet...I only do this at work, so I'm kinda busy at the moment...Will try to post later...
Also we are interested in any spare 2.2l eco parts that u may have need parts for both motor and a auto trans. I think bigfoot is blurry,
that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra
scary to me. There's a large, out-of-focus monster, roaming the countryside.
"Run! He's fuzzy!" "Get outta here!"

hell, why not just swap in an OHV if you want less power.
that car is identical to the wife's. even down to the pin strip lol
Anything worth doing is worth over doing.
Not worried about less power lol. its gonna be a driver and is a huge upgrade period from the current j on all levels lol. Dont worry we still support the 2.4l accually i stand corrected they support me by holding up the workbench hahaha.
