Performance Chips

I don't know much about cars at all, but does anyone know where I can get a good performance chip for my '01 Z24? Also, what type of intake would you recommend, Cold Air or Short Ram? Thanks

Do what ever you feel like or like the look of more, your not going to really notice a difference between short and cold air, I would see what is cheaper, I my sleft went with the cold air by AEM but my advice is what ever you do do it right, you get what you pay for if you know what I mean.

The "ones that are out there" are all scams. There are no "chips" for any j-body newer than 1996.

Thanks, a friend told me that if I purchased and installed an intake, I would lose off-the-line jump, but would gain high-end jump. Is there any truth to that, if so, would short ram or cold air make any sort of difference?

i dont think there is any truth to what your friend said.
an intake is just an intake. just some pipe with a cone filter on the end. just pick one which you like best

Who's making the chip and when will it be out?

No chip available.

You can either get a reflash from Gm with an SC kit, switch to an OBDI ecm or go with a stand alone.

Nobody make a chip for the 2.4 since there's no clip to put it in!!!!!!

a chip goes in the Ecm, not on a sensor.

No, they aren't. Superchips isn't a chip, its a programmer, and I doubt superchips will ever do anything for us, and if they do, only the Eco. Like MFK said, there's no place to plug the chip in, the 96-05 ECU's have all surface mount components. You'd have to unsolder stuff, and no company would have the end user do that.

There is no chip like everyone said. But Hptuners is designing a program to tune our cars. it was on stand by for a while since the LS2 hit and 95% of their effort was focused on that. They have no release date set as of yet but i will be a beta tester for them. People have been getting impaitent and do not like it that it was on standby while they worked on the LS2. But there is a bigger market for the LS2 since there are TONS of LS2 cars in australia. So people have to be patient and just wait. it will be worth it in the long run. I know the work they do and it is HIGH QUALITY. I highly reccomend them for personal tuning programs if you have any motors that fit their programs. So if people are patient then they will get it done and release it.

I have a 95 cav with an OBD I computer. Does this mean that they make a chip for my car?

Sweet...and here I was pissed off that I had to take my 95 to a dealer to get the engine light checked..........This makes up for it..............I resign my previous statements of how stupid GM was for putting an OBD I computer in my car with an OBD II connection.

A few last questions. Who else makes chips for my car? Does Diablo? Who would you guys reccommend?
