rotor question
Saturday, March 19, 2005 9:39 PM
ok so i am replacing my front rotors on my car like 1 every 6-8 months.....this is not right is it. from what i was told is that the aftermarket rotors they sell for cavy's are cheaply made....true? or would it be better to buy slotted rotors and semi-ceramic pads? cause i do have the semi-ceramic pads on it now

those pads you have now are probaly chewing up your stock rotors.
i have the power stop slotted rotors and the Ti22 pads from highrev. i like em

ide deff say theres somethin wrong with your pads, either that or you're replaceing your rotors when they dont need it yet. 6-8 months is crazy.

Do you ride the brakes? Are you a left foot braker?

Is it a manual or automatic? If it's a manual, do you shift to neutral when braking?

Man that is alot of money down the drain .. you may also want to look at the calipers and the brake fluid, contaminated brake fluid can cause so many problems. Get a set of rotors ike power slots or some other 1's get some good brake pads, either full ceramic of some high quality semi-metalic. see how it does then. Remember you get what you pay for most of the time.

Hit 200 NA it broke once, Hit 213 it broke again,
Hitting 300 NA is further away than I thought.

Went through the same thing with my Bonneville. Save yourself some money in the long run and buy some GOOD rotors and pads!!

make sure to check that the sliders on the calipers are properly lubricated.
