what year J had the best 1/4 mile time, stock? 5spd options or not.

A tie between the eco and 2.4, but you can argue that to eternity.

right all the years done for the 2.4l and the eco on pieces of paper and pick one out of a hat.

there's alot to consider with quarter mile times. not every car from a given year will perform exactly the same. plus you have to figure where they are run. weather and altitude play a factor too. there's a lot of other things that can alter a 1/4 mile time too.

Are you guys sure on that? I would have put my money on the 160 hp turbo Sunbirds.

I think they're even a tad lighter than the 3rd gens.

yeshhh I must say stockwise us turbobirds are the fastest. In fact some guys have run low 14s just by turning up their boost w/ no other mods. I finally got a 5spd for mine can't wait to hit the track
