For the people that do not know, i drive an 05 sunfire, its the bright red color and has window tinting and blacked out tail lights. I jsut had a faulty steering pump replaced by gm for no charge with 5600 miles on the car. I think in my other topic i was thinking about trading my 05 in for a different car, but i think i am going to keep the jbody and make big chances to the look of the car and jsut enjoy it throught college. once i get out of med school i can get a different car, or do more to my j. I am only really looking for spend around 2k right now on the car, i still need money for otehr things for college, laptop, food, girls ect ect. so here is what i am thinking about doing. After i list the things i do have questions.
1.The second i saw these wheels i feel in love and have been eyeing them for a month now. i really wanted big wheels, and unique wheels that are uncommon, and that i have not seen around kansas city.Wheels and Tires=$1200
2.KYB AGX Struts for front and rear. i really wanted something mid-price range, yet good quality.Struts=$550.00
3.Eibach Sportline Lowering Springs, good drop length, and yet again good quality for the price. Springs=$200
4.VIS CF OEM Hood. I have always wanted a cf hood, and i think it would look sick with black wheels, black windows and taillights, and offseting on a red car. CF Hood=$500
i might get a few small things for the car like mirros or a cheap sub set-up from a friend but tell me guys what you think.
Questions=
1. how long will those $600 struts last me?
2. do you guys think this is good set-up?
i will post a pic of my car in a little bit.
1. wheels look really familiar... and yeah they are pretty uncommon for the most part.
havnt seen anyone with um but me.
find them on Ebay. i paid 500 shipped for my 18s with no tires. came with fre lugnuts (garbage)
2. those struts arnt meant to that low of a drop on sportlines. they most likely wont last long enough for their price. go with Koni Yellows.
3. sporlines are A OK in my book.
4. i also have the VIS OEM CF hood. its near perfect. weighs a total of 16 lbs and have a plastic underside for better looks.

if you want agx's get a prokit
if i do the right combo of shocks/springs how long will the shocks last i dont want to spend $600 if they are only going to last a short time.
also i might end up scratching the cf hood and doing a good exhaust instead still ahve no decided on that. i think i am going to put everything on at the same time as well jsut to change the cool all at once i am excited.
agxs will handle up to 1.5" drop anything lower you should really either get koni yellows or d-specs. dont get the hps because they are just oem replacments as are the kyb gr-2s
i have a 03-05 cf hood for sale if interested.
i also have d-spec struts and goldline springs for sale
lol, come to think of it, i have similar rims and tires for sale as well. i can fulfill all your needs, lol
i'll give ya the whole package for $1500
RIP Kasey Burleson, and get well soon Chris Shelly
If you get a high quality strut like Koni makes and use them properly, they should last you the life of the car.

We are saying if you want Sportlines, get Konis.

if i do not do a drop right now, and put 18" wheels on my car how much taller will the car sit from the stock 15's i have on it right now how many inches taller will it be?
it will sit the same height if you get the right overall size tire.
hmm ok well that would not bother me AS much then. i plan on lowering it i would jsut like cash to fall back on and not blow 2500 all at once when i could spend 1500 and get nearly the same look just somewhat higher and a little bit more of a crappy ride. i expect with 800 in suspenion upgrades there will be an improvment i ride quality?
its gonna look funny if you put 18s on and not lower it. its gonna look like its raised up even though its not. the smaller tires dont fill the wheel well making it look raised. if your concerned w/ ride height and how low you wanna go, why not just get coilovers? if your looking to spend 800 bucks on suspesion, get ground conrols and koni yellows. it will probably be about 900 total but its worth it. very good suspension
^^^id get D-specs personally if i were you. the Koni's need modification of the stock struts i believe, and it dosent sound like you'd wanna have to do that.
either way, that drop will be nice. do it right the first time!!

Sportlines are low... very low, as far as springs go. I think the only springs that are lower are the Sprints. Either one will kill most struts... so don't bother throwing away the money. If you can't afford the Koni's or D-Specs... save. If you need to lower it NOW, then ride on blown stock struts until you get replacements. The ride quality will suck royally... but you won't have thrown away money on OEM replacements that will have blown.

Yes with the Koni's you have to cut up your stock struts.
HERE is a how to for them, page 3 for pics.
I have had the "Tokiko D-Spec" struts and "Sportline" lowering springs on my car for about 30,000 miles without any problems at all. The install was very easy, and did not take any modifications. I ride around daily on the softest setting and then turn them to hard at the track. It only takes about 10 min. max to change the setting on all four of them.
i will do the wheels first and see how it goes, i am not going to do anything that cant be put back to stock, nor do i really want to void any warrentys. wheels and cf are coming BEFORE the drop.
well if you swap out suspensions that gonna void the warranty for suspension
