Hi, as the title says... what is the car affects MPG ?
Winter in Canada can be pretty cold so, if I take my car for a ride while it's still really cold, or if I heat the car using the HVAC, does this reduce the MPG ?
Thanks a lot
There are a ton of factors that can affect your MPG.
Having come from a pretty cold climate area originally, I found that it worked best, if possible, to let your car warm up to it's normal operating temperature before you hit the streets. Also, keep your speed in check and make sure you're running the correct tire pressure. To put it very generally, make sure you car is well maintained overall (i.e. oil changes, filter changes, etc.) and you should be good to go.
Follow the speed limit(I may sound stupid but it DOES work), don't try to be at the speed limit in 30 feets. Take off slowly and take your time. Let the car warm up. Use the OEM airbox and Delco filter in the winter, ...
I managed to keep between 28 and 30 mpg in winter here in Quebec with my 02 4doors Z24.

dont have a heavy foot or your screwed
Letting the car warm up itself wastes gas just from it sitting there idling. My car warms up in about 2 minutes anyway, so I don't see the point in letting it just sit and idle to waste gas when you can be driving it to waste the gas.

The biggest thing is your right foot !
Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.
You waste more gas by going when the car is hot than letting it warm up.
When the engine is cold, it runs richer. Take that and go on the road. You'll waste alot more gas then letting it idle then go.

Big wheels have a big effect on mileage for city driving but not much for highway.
Having a free flowing exhaust will actually help your mileage if you can keep yourself from making it roar.
i also found out i have a bad hub tonight will that effect my mileage too?

sorry but at -35, 30-45 seconds is not even enough for the Rpm to go down enough to engage the auto tranny safely.

Simply out. EVERYTHING,
The way you drive,
wheels,
tire pressure,
the tires you use,
mods or no mods,
which mods,
alignment,
road conditions,
weather.
Pretty much everything has an affect on MPG. Just some more than others.

if you have a standard, don't shift at 5,000 rpm
don't carry extra weight in the car
don't run your ac, if you don't need it
keep your tires correctly inflated
