i was looking on ebay tonight and came across these sunfires. 2 of them were GTX and another was a SLX. Are these just a Canadian version of the GT and SL sunfires in the US? nothing special about them is there?
They are just base model with a few option. They are not like Gt.

i'm not pickin one up im just wondering what the difference is between them and the gt and base modle fires besides the sticker on the side that says GTX and SLX
Yeah, they were Canadian trim for, I believe, 2001. Someone at GM Canada went retarded or something and made something like 6 trim levels for that year!
GTX is basically a GT sedan, though with SE bumpers. It had the 2.4L and the same interior and suspension as the GT. Basically, the top of the line sedan.
I'm not sure what the SLX had but it was some mid-range trim.
And then dealers started putting the badges to other cars to which they didn't even apply... which I guess is pretty normal for dealers. I made them take the GTX badge off mine before I took delivery.
