Ok, if you are looking at a 98 2.4 engine, standing on the driver side of the engine bay---
underneath the silver cover that says TWIN CAM, the is a space (same area that the oil pressure sender is). In that space there is a black tube. It stands vertical and is about the size of a toilet paper tube.
What is this thing?

The Water Outlet Assembly? The black plastic tube that houses the ECT sensor? If so, those tend to leak. O-Ring slips in them. (Or at least mine did). Annoying to get at. Located in front of the master cylinder and on the driver side of the block.

If so, that would be your ignition coils.
