I read up on autocross and there is alot about rotational inertia. if i did autocross wouldnt disk brakes in the rear and bigger brakes in the front make it slower? I also read that the less offset you have the better off you are.So what offset it best for the J? What tires should i use? it says that tire weight also plays a factor in your cars performance. i got all this from this months sport compact car magazine.

in any situation bigger heavier parts are gonna slow you down, where its the weight of having a sunroof, or the extra wieght of bigger brakes to the weight of the wheels. Wieght affects performance, acceleration, handeling, gas mileage, eveything..

Yeah, I wouldn't put big brakes on a car built to autox. You just don't get to high enough speeds to need them and you're only doing one lap with loads of time between for cool down so fade shouldn't be an issue.

Rotational mass or unsprung mass is a bigger issue than spring mass(body of the car and everything in it). The more mass in the wheels and brakes the more power it takes to spin them up and the more power it takes to slow them down. Higher unsprung mass also affects ease of steering and also how a car adhears to the road, the ligher it is the better the peformance response and effectiveness of suspension.
