thanks, it sucks, i was going to lower it here soon too, but it doesnt look like im going to need to worry about it at this point, but im not all to sure what the insurance company is going to do with it though, its going to cost 8,500 dollars to fix it. i figure that they are going to total it and ill have to get another car,

quick question, what should i get a 95-99 z24 or a 94 cavy vert with the 3.1 in it and swap in a 3.1 turbo motor out of a turbo grand prix. im not to sure which one i want, so maybe you guys can help me out alittle with your opinions that would be great thanks.
airbags, ditch them, fender 35$, a wheel and a tire maybe 300$ (a bit on the much side),a corner light 20$, spring strut(maybe) 200$, hood 120$, bumper fix it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so thats 35+300+20+200+120= 675$
sunstealth-- your failing to add in paint, prep, labor, replace the inerpart of the bumper and it looks to be damage to the unibody it's self. where the fender attaches at the front, air bags 400 to 500 a piece dealer quote. i've priced them once. so those you could ditch. corner light is for that year of car is roughly 60 dollars to 125 dollars. through a parts dealer possible fifty through a salvage yard. depending on your heckling skills.

kustomace.-- that sucks about the car, i have a 93 3.1l cavalier convertible, and i willtell you take sive of a motor in as light of a car as the cavalier is, is fun to have, i never got to turbo it though because we were rear ended and the car was totaled. but it was a blast while it lasted.

I could fix it back to normal under 1000, atleast all the body damage, and air bags, just get a new wheel w/ air bag in it, replace that dash, (20 bucks?) at a yard. Really it just looks like you unbolted the bumper and threw it over there in the ditch, give us soem close ups. $8,500 sounds INSANE!!!!

true i could do all that but what you cant see it in the pictures but all the suspension components are bent the windshleid is gone and there a two fairly large cracks in the body itself. i cant make the descion to fix it or not, its all up to the insurance company if they total it then its gone.

as for the bumper i hit a fence right before i hit the tree and that ripped the bumper off. i really want to fix and have all the know how on fixing it theres nothing on that car that i cant fix excpet the wheel, but all i can do is wait and see what happens. ill find out monday when i get back home from college if they total it or not. the part that sucks the most is that those are new rims i just got those off from trey(trd cav fire) last sunday and put them on my car. so i didnt get to enjoy them for that long. as for the tires, i dont think it had anything to do with that, what happened is that i hit some snow going around a corner and it put the car into a bad fish tail that i couldnt pull out of and then i hit the fence and the tree.
8500 was what i was quoted at a local body shop that my insurance company is with. so thats what i got stuck with. im taking the wing and if i can find some steelies to throw on it the three remaining rims that arent bad. put them on my new car. which i dont have yet.
Too fast for conditions, aye?

Whats up with the hole in the bumper behind the RR tire?
Re: 2002 cavy before and after

i wasnt going all that fast the corner is really sharp and goes down a hill as for the hole in the rear that was from a fire hydrant. i backed into it one night, it was 430 in the morning and i was on my way home from a friends house and it was pureing down rain and i couldnt see the hydrant, which was painted a dark red for some reason. so i backed up and it went right through the bumper.
Let's not forget the WONDERFUL way GM designed the passenger side air bag to shatter the windsheild when it's deployed.

I bumped into the back of some idiot who decided to hesitate when making a right on red and merging into traffic. That little 6 mph bump ended up costing $3000. Airbag, windsheild, seatbelt buckle cracked somehow, front bumper had to be replaced (ie it was cheaper for the body shop to get a new bumper and paint it to match than it was to try and repair the old one), and it also bent the frame ever so slightly causing the hood to sit crooked. Thankfully the insurance took care of it.
It's a safety feature. Most, if not, All passenger air bags are made to hit the windshield first when they deploy.

if anything check ebay for some stuff such as air bags and such...that would help the cost.

and for the other parts hit up a junker, im sure u can get alot of the stuff for alot cheaper!

Seriously? 6mph?
At exactly 270 miles on my girlfriends 04, she clipped a 92-94 Civic hatch when the 84yr old lady darted out from one parking lot, crossed a major 6 lane road attempting to go to a Albertson's parking lot.. Anyways, the skid marks from my GF's 04 said she was going 34mph(35-limit around a easy turn, maybe 15 degrees max.) So, I figure she got down to at least 25mph at point of impact, maybe 20...
Anyways.. The airbags didn't deploy.

The 84yr old lady was cited for "failure to yield". Even after a store owner(also elderly) said my GF was speeding.. Haha, too bad my GF was 1 mile under the limit..Prick..
