it was because i was an idiot... not because i didnt have hood pins
on december 20th i hit someone from behind doing like 15-20 (my other post has details) i got some scratches on my hood and my bumper cracked... checked my hood many times, opened and closed it at least 10 times.. worked fine sitting in my garage, but going 60 on the highway with the vibrations .. i dunno obviously something was broken from the last fender bender... i know im an idiot please dont come here and tell me that i am, i have enough problems
yeh i forgot that u mentioned that it might have done sumthing to the latch, that sucks one thing lead to another. still gonna come on here and say" your a idiot" lol j/m coulda happened to alot of people hope everything works out.
IDIOT
J/K hope everything works out for ya
the insurance adjuster came again today
he looked at the car again, and paid for a new hood again, a new headlight again, more paint again, more labor again, a new roof panel, and new headliner, and new visors, new fenders (they bent where hood connects), so in the end they paid for a new hood twice, which barely covers the replacment of mine and were gonna cut about even at the shop.... not to bad
i think it was a sign to get rid of that hood...
Peter Griffin: Ah... um... ah... the one where Jesus swallows the
puzzle piece and the man in the big yellow hat has to take him
to the hospital?

exactly, pins would have saved me in this situation, but next time if i get into a accident im gonna have it all fixed before i drive the car again.. so the pins would be ugly useless pieces of crap
i drove the car for a year with no pins and got up to 108 at least 20 times.. never had a problem
hey man, that sucks, i read your last post saying i was impressed about how the hood stood up the the accident. but with any fiberglass hood you should have pins, no matter what, might look ugly and all, like you say, but, again, like you said, would have helped you in this situation. i remember when i got my hood on the car, took it to Wis Dells for a weekend, and on the way home i was doing about 80+ on the E-Way, and i was watching my hood flex, when i got home, i went to the 24hr autozone by my house, and bought some hoodpins, costed all of about 20.00, but who knows how much it would have saved me on insurance, and time, worth the invest ment if you ask me. now, instead of only one latch holding my hood down, i have 3 things holding my hood down. now, im not going to say your a idiot or add insult to injury, if you will, but, you live and learn. hood pins on ANY aftermarket hood are a must. IMO anyways. but thats just me. glad to see your okay, and im glad to see your insurance is takeing care of it. goodluck with everything. OH, and if anyone cares, i have the Soundspeed Type 2 hood.
Hey Bryan, I sent you an email last night. Ill help get 'er back together

Good to hear man. I just got a cf ram air JSP hood and I'm def pinning it. I don't want to, but I wanna have a safe feeling knowing I can drive on the highway. I'm gonna powder coat the pins black to match my car, but yeah man, sucks.

I duno... There's no need for pins if you have a half decent hood. I don't have hood pins for my hood and it's been on there for about a year and a half now with freeway driving EVERY DAY
If you have a half-decent hood that uses the stock latch, you shouldn't need hood pins.

1. i am not stupid, you are
2. no i should not have had pins
3. i would have beat your ass
4. its called insurance for a reason, its covers you in the case of an accident, i did not want my hood to fly up, so therefore it was an accident
