...not a good idea.
Life kicked my ass this afternoon...started off good enough...found this Z24 hood at a yard, so I put it on in the parking lot...
And a half hour later im on the side of the freeway with a tow truck on the way and 3 cop cars behind me...
Happened at 12:00 noon, tow truck showed up at 1:30...
Thankfully Im not hurt bad, couple minor cuts, thankfully i was looking down...i heard rattling, so I looked down to turn off the CD player, and the windshield exploded...been picking glass out of my hair for a while now...
Guess the good thing is, the hood came out with just a couple scratches
That sucks man. Hopefully there wasn't any extensive damage to the car. I've seen that happen on another car and it caused the roof to cave in partially.
Nothing too major....the busted glass, cowling was shattered, and a small dent in the roof...
Thats what happens when you don' t properly attach a hood.......
Hope it works out.

Picked these up today at Autozone...
Those autozone hood pins will rust fast, mine did. Keep them dry. Sorry to hear about the hood. I did the exact same thing, with a more fortunate outcome. I just cracked the plastic piece that surrounds the windshield wipers.
Be careful out there!
Damn dave that sucks but instead of pins why dont you just swap the latches?
