Saturn Astra's

Myself and a few other Astra owners got together a few weekends ago to hang out and talk cars. Here are the pictures I took.

Try to keep in mind the after market in North America for this car is pretty much non-existent since this car was only sold in the US for 1 year and Canada for 2. Any of the parts we can get for the car come from the UK or Germany and are either not cheap or will not fit the car.

For now, enjoy the pictures...

Always been a fan of Astra's. Looks great. Love the grill on the blue one.

And I know exactly how you feel about parts in the US being limited to none. Exactly the same way with my SAAB.

Had a Turkish friend who used to have one in Turkey (the Opel version). Thing looked nice as hell but he sold it a couple years ago. I almost considered getting one but didn't know they were only out for 1 year. Seriously, 1 year?

too bad these didn't have a long run in the US. they had the whole euro fit and finish going and could have been a hit with aftermarket suport.

I was looking at getting one of these. But the lack of aftermarket parts turned me away. I found a company that makes some sweet kits for these, but cost 3k cause they are coming from europe.

Nice pics and love the cars, esp. the blue one.

Astra's look great, although...I personally am not a fan of the coating on the headlights that give them that rainbow look. I would sand them down, and reclear them. Just my opinion.

As far as the Saab is concerned, yes parts can be expensive...but they aren't really limited. Have you been to www.genuinesaab.com? $800 and my roomies 06 Saab 9-3 2.0T ARC gained 83 fwhp.

edit: Those wheels are factory...and a NICE option. I was going to buy one of the two door Astra's when they came out, but they didn't offer them with a sunroof, so that was a deal breaker.

Which automaker's logo is that? I went through Opel, Peugot, Holden, and even Alfa Romeo, and I don't recognize it... Looks pretty cool actually....

Looking good was the only thing that it had going for it. Overpriced and underpowered were the two big kickers. No suprise on their short run here.
