As much as no one likes it, winter is soon here, and I just don't think my Hercules Terra Tracs have another season in them. So it's time for a new set of tires. I have a friend who's dad is a shop teacher, and can get awesome deals on tires, but I need to know what I want first.
The Herc's were okay tires, but I know there is better out there. I have narrowed it down to I think 3 or so...
Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo
Pirelli Scorpion A/T
General Grabber AT2
Anyone's opinion who owns, or has owned these would be greatly appreciated.

what kinda car you running those on, some look a bit aggressive for a passenger car
1989 Turbo Trans Am #82, 2007 Cobalt SS G85
I dont own them, but I have driven a truck and a jeep (both my bosses cars) in the snow on the Bridgestone tires you have listed first.
Great in the snow, from my experience, but not so great when only in 2wd.
I have a '93 Ford Bronco, which has BF Goodrich All Terrain A/T's on it. its been in 18"+ and barely needed 4wd. I leave it out of 4wd most of the time because I dont wanna ruin the transfer case or anything, it is an OLD beat to piss truck.
Highly recommend the tires.

I have looked into those too, they are around $100 more per tire then I can get the others for. They may be better, but I am kinda cheap too, haha.

You should just get Continental ContiExtreme Contacts....can use them all year round. Awesome winter grip imho. I had them on my cavy and will be getting them for the Camry also.
Not unintentionally accelerating since 2009!!!!
ran the general grabber at2's on my 96 legacy wagon and also on my gf's kia sportage.
they work great in dry, wet, and snow. also get great mileage out of them.
I am actually not putting these on a car, I was only teasing RP.
They are going on an 02 Sierra.

Another vote for the Generals, I've heard nothing but good things about them.
I had GFG a/t's on my 2wd truck..wells till do, and only got stuck when i was being stupid in the snow.
My dad has tires that have a rather similar tread to the BFG's on his fusion for work...dunno how much they cost since his job foots the bill for the car.

i meant BFG...doh.
have your tried those blizzacks...or buying an awd car?

the bfg's are pretty good all year long...grip decently in the mud, dirt, gravel snow...not amazing but their designed to be good all around and they wear rather well.
I loved mine on my truck and it's 2wd...4wd you shouldn't have a problem.

I have a set of iPikes for this winter. Hankook iPikes. Look extreme, can't wait to try them out!
It seems that Bridgestone now has a Revo 2 design. I better price these too.

I am thinking about putting Goodyear Wrangler DuraTracs on my Ranger. They seem really aggressive and have lots of sips, which help out in rain and snow conditions.
O noes!
I have not heard good things about the Generals. You might also want to consider the Nitto Terra Grappler. I've heard good things about them. I may not be doing any snow/ice driving, but I rather like the Hankook Dynapro RF10 that I'm running right now. For the money, it seems to be a great tire so far.

IDK, I'm torn on the Nitto's. Seem to chunk off really easy. Old friend had them on his Xterra, and only did mild offroading with it.

get these....i have them on my f-150 silent armor
think they are like 147 a piece on tirerack

Have these on my 08 Canyon.
Amazing tire. Picked them up at Costco, who beat everyone's price around town.

We're going with Yokohamas. Then I'm using the newly mounted winter tires as an excuse to get rims for the 'Rolla. Motegi SX5s here I come!
