I like what Hyundai is doing since a few years. I'd drive this one for sure.
I'm all for the hyundai-kia upward trend, but I just can't love the styling of this Sonata. The front grille makes me think of a fish, and the body line on the side of the car makes it looks cheap. The headlights and tailights also don't really look very sophisticated either.

It looks like a genesis coupe turned into a sedan if that makes sense.

i disagree, but you can have your opinion
nothing on this car makes it look all that cheap, in fact it has a very lexus type feel and takes styling cues from the aforementioned genesis
for a sedan it looks pretty sporty, and i like the possible 4 cylinder power
i work for hyundai, so i get service training on all the new cars before they come out.... i really loved the genesis coupe 4cyl turbo edition... but you cant beat the v6 with around 300 WHP out of the box. i feel the body of the genesis coupe is that of a restyled, real wheel drive Tiburon, and this new sonata is now taking some of the body line designs from the coupe (which originated with the originial tiburon)
I cant wait to see the 11 Sonata when it comes to the dealership!!
EDIT ... i just noticed the push to start button like the genesis has... good stuff

the only things I dont like is the tan on the steering wheel and i think the buttons for seat/window/lock controls on the doors should be black. Wonder if there will be a full black interior option
Gm is going to die a long slow taxpayer funded death.

That's one insanely good looking mid-size.

I think Benz/Lexus when i look at the front. I'm really liking where Hyundai is going. They might just get my business
Any one else see Toyota Solara? Bmw rear?
Lanman31337 -F = fatties = do not want. A little chunk in the junk is ok though.

I was just thinking the same thing
only thing i dont like is the grill.
i love the looks of the car though
To me all their stuff just looks like combos of other cars... The interior looks just like a new Cadillac CTS's. Sure it looks good, but in no way is Hyundai/Kia Orginial.
So what? It looks fantastic, and will relegate the Malibu to the rental fleets. The new Malibu will end up being a typical gm rehash with a big ad about xm radio.

And that is bad why?

This car.
Still looks like a looker in this class.

Sadly, you can almost say that about any car today.

I'd rock it in silver with the panoramic roof. If the i4 190 hp engine is true, that would be more than sufficient power for me as a daily driver.
No thanks. The Fusion, Accord, and Malibu all look much better.
My view is that they have an awesome, shiny wrapper...but they're still Hyundai's. I'd never buy one--looks don't add resale value or keep the car running (like my Accord) for 150,000+ miles without a single major problem.
Mr.Goodwrench-G.T. wrote: I predict it will be around 190 hp. Production of the 2011 Hyundai Sonata for U.S. consumption will begin early in 2010 at the company’s factory in Alabama, with deliveries to commence shortly thereafter.
I got it right: 190Hp, but it can go as high 200HP @6300 depending on trim. Torque is strong @ 186ft-lbs @4250.
Word around here is that the V6 is out, and in place will be a turbo-4 that will arrive second half 2010. A hybrid will arrive too.
6-speed manual and auto will be avilable with this 2.4L.
