What is the difference between the two? I thought that the base bumper had a cut out for the exhaust molded in with the bumper and was very sublte. And the Z bumper did not. Also can the ls sport lip fit the Z bumper and the base or just the Z? just want to clarify some things.

I believe the bumpers on all those models are identical but for the Z24 one having the fog lights in the front bumper. The LS Sport valences which were added in 02 should fit all 00-02 bumpers but you have to take a lot of care in setting the clips into them.
Of course, I'm not a Cav owner so there could be minor details I'm unaware of. I believe in 01 they started painting the whole front bumper rather than leaving the grill and trim around the fog lights unpainted, but I'm unsure on that as well.

i think there base and lsport rears are the same but if someone that knows could put in there input to confirm this that would be great

heres a straight up answer for ya guys. in 00-02 the base bumpers and ls sport bumpers are the same, cept that the ls sport has the added pieces on it. the base also has a small cutout for the exhaust but its really not much more than a small curve. if you are askin will the ls sport lip fit on a older z style rear bumper the answe would be prolly not. if you want the ls lip jus geta newer style bumper and do it or jus geta ls sport bumper

Yeah, ok, well say you want to put a 00-02 ls lip on a base 00-02 bumper, will it work is what he is asking. he has the lip and i have the the nexer style bumper and we would swap if they fit....

the LS Sport lip WILL fit onto a base model rear bumper, but there are a ton of little clips you use to put it on, which i've heard is a real pain. there might be some other way to attach the lip (ie. screws or something), but you'd hafta get both the lip and the bumper together and see what you could do.
some people say its easier just to buy an ls sport bumper.
but yes, the lip should fit, you just need to find a way to attach it.
