I have an idea that doesn't pretain directly to J-Body's, but cars in general.

They don't make projector headlights for my car :mad:. Now, my car has the older style headlights that have those lines all over the exterior lens. Would it be possible to sand those down smooth, take some plastic polish, polish the hell out of the area, and make it 100% clear? Then retro fit HID's from another car into the headlight?

It might be easier to form some plexiglass instead of sanding the stock lens smooth. You might end up making it too thin that way.

Either way though, you then have to get some projectors for whatever bulbs you put in, whether they be stock or some HID system. Those lines on the stock lens serve a purpose and without them, you'll get very poor coverage from the lights without some sort of compensation, such as a projector lens.

Isn't that what Piparo did?

actually if its a sunfire www.whiteboystyle.ca i beleive it is has a precious few preformed plexi lenses, for a fee they may make some for your car but i dunno, if not just invest in a good heat gun and some silicone, if your lens is glass its alot harder to do anything to it, if its plastic you could in theory sand it down using probably 600 to 800 grit wet sand paper, i'm not 100% on that one check around for more on it, and finish sand with some really fine 1500 to 2000 grit and you might get it so smooth its clear again but i've never tried it, i've only heard of it being done once before, good luck though.

If you have a sunfire and end up just end up clearing the lens ans throw some hid in there your gonna have a horibble light out put. Those lines on the lenses are there for a reason, to distribute the light out to the ground. If your gonna clear them then retro in some projectors.
