Hood Quick Lift

I know some of you have seen this before. Cavalier/Sunfire Hood Quick Lift. I found it on this website. I wonder if it fits on a VIS CF Evo Hood. Ive emailed them but no response yet. What do you guys think? This is the installation on the OEM hood. it seems like it might fit on the Evo hood. Would it be better if i just buy my own shocks from the auto store? I just don't know where to get the bases for the shocks.

seems like it would be the same and work on a aftermarket hood but i would buy the kit after getting a responce from them if they tell you it will work and it doesnt you can send it back if you buy the stuff seperate and try to do it your self certine stores might not take the stuff back

boost is like ice cream, there's always room for it

you have to be careful using those on cf/fg hoods they tend to break at the mounting points because the struts are meant for the heavier metal hood.

Only tested by the manufacturer on an OEM metal hood. There have been some people that tried them on an aftermarket hood, but they seemed to break out the fiberglass/carbon fiber after some time.

Is there a way to prevent this. Like getting some other shocks? If not I might just stay clear of this idea. Thanks guys for the heads up.

The shocks need to stay the same I'm sure... unless you were able to find a less powerful set, but then the hood may not go up & stay up.

You could try spreading out the force on the hood/mounting area by making a larger bracket and using more rivets/screws.
