Was gonna primer the whole cav.. tried something first.

Watcha think?
I kinda like it.
I need to finish the rear quarter panels, and sand it smooth and touch up a few spots.

I was planning on painting the whole car with primer, but I'd never see this done before.
And I love two tone paint jobs.

Any one like it?

I was thinking the black trim around the windows and side mirrors would look better in primer as well.

I know its different, but I actually think it looks really good(the primer) against the teal.

I'm going to get the side skirts painted to match the body color.

Some quick notes:
The roof would be painted primer.
The lines on the tail lights is masking tape, I was trying to see how to drop the primer to match the trunk.

Once you finish it, it'll look decent. If the clear was peeling on most of the parts you hit with primer, kudos on a decent solution. If not, I would've held off.

I still have to go at the extent of the two tone.

I sanded off the clear coat, I did it the same way with the hood and the trunk.
The hood was done almost 2 month ago and haven't had any issues with it.
The trunk was done about a month ago and is also doing good.

I was referring to the clear oxidizing badly or peeling off itself. I assumed you sanded the clear before you shot primer over it...

.......um question for ya. What were you thinking??? Primer is not a final finish.... AT ALL. I mean if you like the look of that gray then do it the right way. Sand down the whole thing. Get that color gray and use a flat paint clear coat. That paint is going to be flaking and chipping off like crazy.
