i need a part number for a running light/brake light socket for a 2000 - 02 Toyota Cavalier...
the socket does not mesh up to the chevy lights, and my set of toyo lights came with a bad socket... and the Chevrolet dealership cannot look up toyo parts directly...
Thanks!!
Lenko went on strike. He's sticking to AG till Bill is banned
he went on strike in IRC too... =(
Jeffy: can i seriously look up Toyota Cavalier parts at a toyota dealership??? (as much of a stupid question that sounds... i didnt think that would work, since they are GM Parts)
they are gm parts, yes you can look them up at the gm dealer but they will just look at you like ur an idiot if you mention toyota. they are gm parts and are in their computers.
you may have more luck chopping off sockets at the junk yard off random cars and trying them tho.
oh they already have... i had them pull up the part number for a toyota badge... they were like "holy @!#$, we sell toyota badges"
but i had the P/N ... ive seen their menus (since i work at the dealership)... there is not a toyota option...
I'm almost 100% that the number is
15485094 - Socket
15305473 - Cavity/Secondary Lock
12020720 - Gasket
12092058 - Cavity A & B Terminals
12092030 - Cavity G Terminal
BTW those are Delphi part numbers, don't know if given to the GM dealer if those will pull up anything. But you can call and try.
That's only going by the drawing and comparing the connector in the harness I got here.

Them being different honestly makes no absolute sense to me as I ran mine on the '97 with the stock socket, and another one from the junkyard for the turns. AKA no Toyota harness nor socket.
Grant my tails were 95-99, but I've had both 95-99 and 2k+ and the harness swapped right over.

Yeah thats definitely it... you can tell the socket accepts the 7443 bulb...
my question is now, do i need to order all of that and assemble the socket, or can i order the socket and will it be pre-assembled

i wonder... i never tried putting the stock socket in there... i could always get a junkyard socket and harness if i had to... but i wonder why would chevrolet switch to the 7443 bulb for on the 00 + tail lights but keep the socket hole the same...

You never know.
I always ran stock 3157 style bulbs in all my couple sets or so of Toyos. Even with my OG 95-99's that came with harness.

Most likely it wont come pre-assembled.. so you would need to get all of that. because if it came pre-assembled it would be difficult to crimp your wires into the terminals. Also you say that is it to accept the 7443.. well if you run the part number for the bulb on the drawing a 3057 bulb comes up.. So.. you may want to try putting a 3057/3157/3357/3457 bulb in that socket and see if it works. Did you buy them new or used? Possibly the bulbs were replaced if you bought them used.
that may be the case... i'll try swapping the bulbs out one more time... 7443 were in there and are similarly shaped...
the driver side seems to work fine with the 7443 but on the passenger side, i had to play with it to make it work, and by the time i got the tail back on the car, the bulb lost connectivity...
Figured I'd add.. found a set of 2000 Toyos on ebay and their harness and bulb sockets are the same thing as the set of 99s I have. So its weird yours is different.
Lenko is not Mr. Toyota Cavalier JDM he knows who's the real JDM MAN here he-he see you soon John at HIN up there by you.
SHOCKWAVE IS BACK
Did you ever figure this out?
