heres my story my sunfire came with day time running lights..theres a new law here in my city of Halifax.that the day time running lights must be working...but i put a set of HID head light kit in and i lost my day time running lights and my loe beams....so all i have are high beams now when i turn my headlights on...does any one know how i can get my day time running lights and low beams back?

if the DRLs have to work, but could be in a different spot, use the wire that suplies the power for them, and run it to a relay that lights up a set of driving lights or something. or, put the stock bulbs back in to get inspected, and just drive with your headlights on during the day.

well you can do what a couple others have, and get a module from another car w/ DRL's that are on the parking lights, and have it run DRL's on those.

as far as high beams always on....WTF kind of HID kit did you buy???

But here is the thing, you could order a sunfire with a DRL delete option from the factory......how can they tell that it was not one of the options you chose?

If he lies says that his car didn't have DRLs from the factory, he could be screwed if a cop runs his VIN.

since you need the DRL's you could just wire your parking lights to a switch ignition source so they come on whenever you turn the key.

All they are asking for is some lights that are on during the day. Do they care where the light is located or coming from? If not add some fog lamps to your car and wire them to a switch that lets you turn them on when ever the F you feel like it. Tada daytime running lights. And you could use this as an excuse to buy a body kit, do a Cavy Z24 front end conversion or etc...; this situation has ALOT of possibilities.
