Actually, it could be either--but "poseur" is the preferred spelling.
As for 3d modelling and rendering, i personally prefer 3dstudio.

I like poser, it's a little hard starting out, but once you get used to it it's pretty good. Hope you have a good computer for the rendering

-------Yes, everyone copys off other people a little bit, but to say we are all the definiton of poseur is a little off. I didn't get a body kit on my car to look like someone else, it looked good, I liked it. I didn't see Tom Cruise driving around in a cavalier with a body kit and decide "I want to be like him". And making a body kit from scratch requires tools that about 99% of us don't have, we don't have time to do, or can't afford. It's like saying I am acting as a "poseur" if I buy clothing at a big line store. Well I can either do that, learn to knit or go naked, but I'd be copying off my grandma if I learn how to knit and peewee herman if I just walked around in the nude. It's not posing as someone else, it's living logically. I guess you can say we are all posing as eachother by doing that, but I'd like to see the guy making everything he owns by scratch, then I want to see the guy he stole that idea from, so I can tell him someone is posing as him.
